1000 calories a day? Your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose any weight because it is in a survival state.

I love how supportive and kind these posts are. Such a stigma associated with BED...and so many suffer.

I do strong lifts and I am 41.

A rule of thumb (as I don't know what you weigh, etc) is that you burn approximately 32ish calories per 5 minutes of intense training. This is for a woman approx. 120 pounds. If this helps.

Blogilates is funny! She cracks me up! But her online calendar for the ab challenge this month is free. Also, TravelStrong website has an EFFECTIVE 30 day squat challenge with levels.

I once had a doctor tell me that I did too many sit ups, my stomach was too flat, and that what was causing the radiating pain in my stomach. Yeah, turned out I had acute pancreatitis. Not too many of those dangerous sit ups I was doing...

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Don't try the hit and miss approach to running shoes. Somebody loves a shoe and another person will hate it. kkenseth is right, shoes are personal.

Ditto Kami, Shadow...you are amazing!

You are all lifting rock stars. Wish you all worked out at my gym so that we could beast mode together

Can you make your portion sizes smaller? I agree...talking with your parents is a great way to start. Maybe they will be inspired, too. A DVD or using your computer to watch a workout routine would be an easy add on (DVDs are pretty inexpensive and most people have a computer to watch youtube or another website for a…

Have you tried the My Recipes part of the app/program? You can enter exactly a meal that you eat each day and it becomes much, much easier, too.

Do you walk or cycle? In combination with diet, those are great for getting in shape!

-
Best of luck! It is worth it, and you will be glad for it later! :)
-
That means change! Congrats!! :)

I can only aspire to these skills. I would drop the peanut butter on the floor.

At the same time??? I am way, way impressed.
-
I added you...I lift at least 3x a week (11 year old, 8 year old) and I run, too. :)

Love talking fitness programs!

When I ran further than I ran the last time, lifted the next weight class on the weight stack...

If you have the time, read the article called, "Ultra" in Runner's World magazine (August 2015). I am not sure that it is out on newsstands yet, because I receive it in the mail. It answers the question that, yes, actually some people can run and they hit a loss plateau and do not lose any more. This amazing woman in the…

Does your hospital have a fitness center? Could you do some weight lifting to combine with your cycling?
-
Perfect, that is exactly the testimony I was looking for...I am really looking to try to mix it up from the routines that I am currently doing and thought it looked like a great resource.
-
Crazy...I started at 205 about 15 years ago and I am down to 117. So percentage-wise, I would say I am down a whole person.

A rice cooker is an inexpensive and time saving tool for cooking rice/quinoa/barley too. I love mine and use it every week for at least 2 or 3 meals.
