I never noticed the extra 60lbs that I was carrying when I looked into the mirror. I only see the difference in pictures and it is drastic. I think the change both gaining and losing weight is so gradual that the way we look in the mirror just becomes the norm! Congrats on your journey. Keep it up!

The opposite of this is true as well. I go out into the humid hot sun and watch the people around me dying with sweat while I'm OK. My body can regulate itself so much better.

Started in June 2011 at 5'7" and 199 lbs. Hit 140 around March 2012 and have maintained ever since. Stick with it.

I used to run at lunchtime and even have access to a shower but it is pretty nasty and I lack motivation to totally get back into work attire after running. For the last two years I have found a middle ground. I bring my workout clothes with me and on a running day I break from work a little early and change into my…

March of 2012 is when my new "habits" of eating reasonable portions and exercising got me from my couch potato, obese 5' 7" 199 lbs, to my goal weight of under 140. It has been 2 1/2 years and I weighed in at 137.4 this morning after running the Baltimore Half Marathon on Saturday. My wife paved the way for this new…

Good luck in the Air Force Kyuubi... It can really be a blast if you let it!

Around 2006 my wife started measuring her food intake and working out. She started running half marathons and I was the husband that followed her from race to race. She lost a LOT of weight and felt great. During the summer of 2011 I stepped on her scale and saw that my weight was at 199 lbs. I weighed 150 lbs when I got…

I noticed that when I change an amount of the food i am adding it blows out the screen and goes back to the previous screen.

Half marathon. I ran my 1st one last December and have run 3 more since then. The distance is a challenge but is still comfortable.

Dropped from 199 in May 2011 to 140 in March 2012 and stayed there ever since. The people above are correct. Eat reasonable amounts of reasonable food and exercise. My goal is 1,800 cal daily with 14 - 20 miles of running per week. I believe that what and how much you eat is the priority thing followed by reasonable…

Here is weighing every Monday for 833 days! I have been very happy with my maintenance once I got to my goal weight. Keep it up everyone!

Wow... that is the first happy "I had to get an MRI due to follow-up from a brain tumor" post I have ever read!! Way to see the bright side of life!

Congrats! Your trainer is right about being seeing what you are made of... It may seem like a completely unbelievable fantasy right now to think of these things becoming routine... but I remember well back in the summer of 2011 when I was only walking while my wife would do her runs... By fall I would run 1/10th and walk…

I see your son is in a technical shirt... did he run the 5 miler with you? Running races with my wife and kids is one of the best blessings that came with my change to a healthier lifestyle...

I always say the best part of the before and after is seeing the smile on the face... This time NO ONE will beleive that is where I am looking but I promise, it was the 1st thing I noticed. Ahem... then I noticed a few other things! You go girl!

My license said 170 lbs (which was most likely a big fat lie!) I now weigh 137 and had trouble getting my license back from a security guard when I was leaving a building in DC last month... she didn't believe it was me! Old me from my current license :-( New me!

I hope you learn to love it. No pics (I'm at work...shhhhh.) I started at 5' 7", 199 lbs, size 38 pants, XL shirts back in 2011. I could barely run several hundred feet without walking. Now I am 137 lbs, Size 30 pants, sm shirts. Besides controlling what and how much I ate (which is the most important thing IMO) running is…

When I left Walmart the other day a good friend was out front with her daughter selling Girl Scout cookies. I couldn't just walk by so I had to come up with a plan...and quick! I walked up to the girls and gave them some money. I told them to keep any change but also NOT give me any cookies... I told them to tell their…

Welcome fellow Marylander... Stay obsessed. I was reading last week about spouses who were "less than supportive" of the MFP spouse and made fun of them for constantly checking MFP on their phone before ordering at a restaurant... My wife and I feel that we will be more successful if we knowingly limit our caloric intake…

Wow.... Looks great!

"On the verge" is not the same as "there was a mass explosion of merangue." You resisted. You did good.
