Another general estimation: you burn approximately half the calories per minute lifting weights as you would for running. For example, I burn 300 calories running for 30 minutes but only 150 calories lifting weights for 30 minutes.[/quote] No

Disagree. I restarted with a dance group I used to be in when I was younger, it's SO MUCH FUN. Added to that my legs, especially my calf muscles are so toned!
-
How much are you eating?
-
3 2 of them we all arranged to meet up for dinner and drinks 1 I bumped into purely by chance
-
Absolutely this. Make excuses and you start to believe them.

You don't have to walk for 40 minutes consecutively, try breaking it up into 3/4 x 10 minute walks and build on that as your stamina increases.
-
No one is dissing you, they're giving you advice, chill out.

No calorie goal. Between 45 - 70 mins

I.never undestand these posts. It's.not hard.to eat.1200'cals a day at all....yes, even in a healthy way
-

Don't eat after Xpm

Too much cardio will burn your muscles

NO!! I drink beer regularly and am doing just fine. Vodka comes into my life too!

Schools make up stupid rules which make no sense all the time...at my kids school they can bring a snack of biscuit covered in chocolate, but cannot have a chocolate only bar. There you go.

You will need to lift more days a week, at least 4. As for cardio, once weekly is good. How's your diet?
-
Lol I don't think anyone else is doing the cabbage soup diet.
-
Congrats on your success. Although you lost weight because you reduced your calorie consumption, not due to giving up eating bread.
-
Well done, keep at it Rick!
-
Aww, I'll send you a FR!

If I posted on a public forum I would expect all sorts of replies and opinions. You don't get a choice as to who posts. I feel sorry for your partner.

I think you need to stop seeking anyone and everyones advice and let her decide if and when she wants to lose weight, as frustrating as that might be for you. Did you have anyone on at you to lose weight? Did it work? I'm guessing no, you came to the decision herself. I would be so upset and angry if my husband posted pics…

Why are you weighing yourself at 2am?
-
Nothing wrong with machines, they serve their purpose...I use them now whereas I didn't before, for example I can't do heavy squats anymore due to knee and back issues to I use the leg press. Start with machines, when you feel more confident try free weights.

It's natural for most people to gain a few lbs after getting to goal and then ncreasing calories. Might be an idea to lose around 5lbs under your goal weight as a buffer for when you start eating at maintenance. I doubt 1200 is maintenance for you, unless you're 2ft tall. Losing weight on 800/900 cals as you did was crash…

Actually you can have a big frame and I'm a woman with broad shoulders...whilst not being overweight.
-
Well, who'd have thought of that?!
-
Yeah, go for Jillian Michaels The 30 Day Shred, you'll love the results. You might even be spurred on to carry on lifting with heavier weights....whilst not looking like a man lol. That's what happened to me.
-
You don't need to lose anymore weight at all. You could do with gaining a bit and doing some strength exercise to put on some of that weight with muscle...otherwise those flabby arms will remain flabby howver much you lose. It will also help "tighten" you up all over.

I've got great obliques and top abs showing through from lifting weights. I hardly ever do abs exercises exclusively.
