Congrats! I can't wait to get mine checked!

I am so happy that you will be ab le to eat healthier!!!!!!!! Originally I wasn't able to eat any carbs(before meds/insulin) and it was so bad to be starving my body for the sake of my BG! It bothered me that you were going through it!! I am so glad you can feed your body again! I am getting the hang of adjusting how much…

I so agree with watching my carbs and taking less insulin. I get headaches if I depend on it to much!

You are so not alone! It is a struggle to come to terms with it. I was diagnosed with type 2 at the same time I found out I was pregnant. I lost the pregnancy due to my A1C being 11.7. My A1C was 8.7 one month after my first test. I am checking my sugar 7 times a day, taking insulin before meals and at bedtime, and taking…

I love On Track!

Sounds just like me before I started taking insulin. I will get to low in the evenings if I am not careful now that I'm on insulin. Once I am done having children, I plan on going on long acting insulin twice a day instead of fast acting insulin before meals and long acting insulin a bedtime. Good luck at your Dr visit!…

With eating so few carbs, is your body going into keytosis? What did your Doctor say? Are you against insulin?

I barely ever weigh myself, so when I do, I'm always happy with the outcome!

Did you know that your body tells you its thirsty that same way it tells you its hungry? I start with water. If I still have the munchies, then I promise myself I'll snack after I'm active for 15 minutes(usually walking the dog). By then It's usually time to eat again anyway! I have three meals and two snacks a day, so I'm…

I totally agree with Sharonks(I usually do)! Carefull with alcohol, it will make your sugar drop!!!!! Make sure you eat while you drink, and check your sugar often! I have found that beer makes my sugar go up, but liquor drops it. There are alot of recipies for yummy cocktails out there that you can make. I love sugar free…

I found out I have type 2 just a few months ago.My diet, weight, health, and outlook has improved quickly since then. Shoot, I'm probably the healthiest person in my family now! I found that the more I educated myself, the easier it becomes. It sucks, but you arent alone.

I used to be able to eat anything, then a switch flipped and I couldn't look at a carb without gaining. Once I starting seeing entire days of food I could eat and stay in range, eating out wasnt as scary. I also attended nutrition classes and saw a nutritionist. Knowledge is power, I had two slices of pizza last week with…

Way to go Travis! Your my role model! I'm also trying to get my A1c way down.

Hi I'm 5 feet and 1.5 inches. I started out at 220 an I'm down in the 180's now. In highschool i weighed 124 no matter what I did! I hope to now get into the 140/150 range as I have no desire to be tiny, but rather strong and healthy. When I'm not working, I find that 800 calories a day is good enough for me when I am…

I noticed that I have a little window around 1pm that my sugar is always low, like my body resets. So, I know if I'm gonna eat something bad I have it as a late breakfast. i try not to do it often though!

46 pounds would be alot for someone over 200 pounds, but when your over 400, it might not be bad for a start!
-
Way to go! Don't get discouraged when your weight loss slows down, the smaller you get the slower it will come off. Make sure to consult a Dr along the way to make sure you are staying healthy!!

I use cinnamon for ants, its awesome!

Thanks for the input! Does anyone eat out? what do you eat?
-
Sorry, but you look skinny in them all!
-
Just took a nutrition class and that is pretty much what I learned! Only women want to stay on the low end of that scale for the carb intake.

I was using the One touch Mini and then had to switch to the ACCU-CHEK compact plus due to insurance. I love the new meter because the strips come in a cartridge so I dont have to fumble with them and I get less error messages. The downside is It needs alittle more blood, but it is worth it since I can't mess it up easily.

thanks! I have to say though, adding real sugar to fruit isn't a good idea.

Wow, I'm a new Diabetic, and I love some of these ideas! I LOVE the sugar free gum in dessert flavors, and sugar free candy is a life saver when I need a sweet fix. I am trying to bring my cholesterol also, I think I'm gonna make a new topic!

Im new to Diabetes but old to MFP. My goal is to get my sugars as low a possible so I can start a family. It is still hit and miss for me but I have lost a good amount of weight. I am also trying to bring down my cholesterol, so Im having a hard time cutting out cheese, beef, and eggs...

Weddings are stressful, expensive, parties for your friends and family. My marriage is a commitment to my best friend. I wish we had eloped and spent that money on ourselves!
