  • Oh, I love Stephanie Buttermore. Have you seen her recent journey? She has gone 'All in' and removed herself completely from tracking in order to bring her mental and physical health back. Definitely worth a watch. Thank you all for your advice. I really appreciate it. I am taking a break from tracking for a meal…
  • So I lost 100 lbs in 11 months. It was aggressive. I did experience some loose skin but it was helped ENORMOUSLY with weight training and just a bit of time. Attached are some photos if that helps. The first one is before the weight training and the second one is two months after I started. I am the same weight in both…
  • Everybody is different and I am a big advocate for doing what works for you. So if you are doing well on 1200kcal and it suits your outcomes and lifestyle then good on you. I did 1200 kcals for a couple of weeks when I started with MyFitness Pal. It was WAY too low for me and the pain from hunger was too much. I worked out…
  • So in theory yes...However, food calories and exercise calories are an estimation and never as accurate as one would sometimes believe, even if you are weighing everything and wearing a heart rate monitor. This is my third time losing some weight, last time I lost 100lbs in 11 months. A bit of that has crept back on over…
  • So the best diet (intermittent fasting, keto, CICO, IIFYM etc) is statically.....Drum roll.....the one that you like the best. This has been proven in science journals time and time again. It is as simple as it if don't find it too hideous then you are more likely to stick to it and a diet stuck to is going to provide…
  • Plateau are frustrating but happen. A week is not a long time and I would definitely give it more time. To repeat what everyone has said here. Weight loss is not linear. You will have days where you go up, which could increase salt or water retention. It is definitely worth sometimes looking at the bigger picture. Although…
  • Oh I bloody love a spreadsheet. Unfortunately the link doesn't seem to be working to yours but I bet it is great. This one is mine. It is all automated so the only thing I input is the blue cells. The current weight I can put in at any time to see if I am on course otherwise I just log my weekly weigh-ins. Everything else…
  • I have had plastic surgery for reconstruction of one breast. It was due to a birth defect I was born with call Pollands Symdrome. It did not affect my functioning so really a cosmetic procedure that was done to make me feel like a 'normal' woman. I have had the operation twice, once at 15 and once at 30 yrs old. My advice…
  • Hey, Firstly don't beat yourself up. You have been going through a super hard time. It happens and your weight is the definition of your life success. You are doing all you can and you should be proud as you sound like you are being a wonderful father and partner. With the gym would at-home workouts be easier at the…
  • I lost 100lbs in about 10.5 months in 2018/19. I just tracked on MFP (being super honest). I have gained some of that weight back over covid as the gyms were closed. I then had a super challenging year last year for one reason or another. So back on it to lose that weight but not going to beat myself up about it. I managed…
  • Totally understand what you are saying. Personally, I don't think people should be on 1200 kcals. It is well known in the scientific community that this can be a dangerously low number. However, each body is different and I am not going to preach about how people want to eat. So happy to agree to disagree. One of the…
  • Personally I think that the MFP auto setting are junk. It is far too aggressive. I use 1800 kcals a day and lost 100lbs on that, however, I do a shed load of exercise. I think the best way to set your kcals is using a BMR calculator (this is the calories for your body to be at maintenance) and then removing the kcals you…
  • YES LIFT!! I could give you all the reasons why you should, hormone balance, bone density, increase metabolism, strength to carry your shopping,...etc but instead just try it and see how you and your body feels. I mean probably a little sore to start with but after a while...so great. The only advice I would give though is…
  • I am 5'6", 160lbs and 24% body fat. I do about 7.5 hours of dedicated exercise a week (cardio, heavy lifting, HIIT, pilates) and then try and hit 6km of walking a day. My maintenance is at about 2600. I have been in maintenance since March, I have gained a few pounds but have lost a dress size so it is just more body fat…
  • Ok perfect, thanks. Maybe one day I will get to that point but for now, slight kcal deficit, high protein, and heavyweights will hopefully do the job (with a little sprinkle of cardio for that heart health).
  • So been in maintenance since March. Haven't been purposely recomping (I know that is not a real word :D) however, lifting heavy weights has done its magic and definitely changed my body as you can see below. So decided to take the recomp serious as of this week. Got myself an incredible trainer and looking to move my body…
  • I can reiterate what these other posters have said. Been in maintenance since March and my loose skin is so much better than it was. Just took a little patience. No doubt that weight lifting and hydration definitely play a part in making the skin tighten. I also took collagen tablets but from what I have read in scientific…
  • Thanks. I do 2 days heavy weights upper and lower, 2 days strength circuits, 2 days cardio mainly training for the half marathon I have in sept. However, to be honest the main thing I think that has made them look better is time as my skin gets tighter after a 100lbs loss and a bit of a tan! 😂
  • Hey, Weight loss is not linear on anyone. You know in your heart of hearts if you have been on point with your nutrition. If you have, then this is just a fluctuation or you are adding muscle mass. If not then just tighten up a bit, nothing extreme just be stricter with measuring and tracking. Remember though the scale…
  • That an incredible achievement. You should be so proud of yourself and the work you have done.
  • I wish I could give you a hug. I am so sorry you are having a horrendous day/time. To echo some of the previous messages, the crazy person would have called you names no matter what you look like, it is just unfortunate that they managed to find a trigger word for you. I know you have not asked for advice so please ignore…
  • Massive congratulations on the weight loss!! Definitely get some smaller underwear. It was the only I kept buying on my way down. Just got those cotton packs for 5 in each size. However, now I am at the size I want I may have brought some new ones that makes me feel pretty sexy!! I would recommend! 😂😂
  • 5'6" and 100lbs down in just under 11 months. Lift heavy 3 times a week plus a session of pilates, yoga, run, HITT and watt bike. Eat 200kcals due to the exercise. See looking to do 10 more lbs. We will see!
  • New clothes. I am now a UK size 10 and I don't want to get any smaller than that. Now I can buy the clothes I have always dreamed about that actually fit. For the last 11 month nothing has fitted more than a week or two. It is such a joy to have something in the wardrobe that I love.
  • 100lbs in 11 months. Have 10lbs to go. Hoping to get the done in the next two months. I have been averaging 1% of BW per week. So at the start (260lbs) it was 2.6/3lbs and it is now 1.5lbs a week. This is pretty aggressive but not unhealthy. I eat 2000kcal a day.
  • Oh amazing, congrats on losing so much xx
  • Massive kudos on getting this far. A massive achievement. I am 10lbs away too. For me I have found changing my exercise from mostly resistant cardio (e.g. HITT and Spinning) to mostly heavy lifting (e.g. Body Weight Squats and Deadlift) has really helped. I have even had to up my calories :D!! I think growing more muscles…
  • This is/You are amazing. Your determination is seriously impressive. I tip my hat to you, Sir.
  • I am not going to lie I had to Google CiCo 😳😂!!! When I started i did focus in Calories in vs Calories out, however, I found myself competing with MFP to see how many calories I could burn (this is why I don't play team sports)!! What a fool! So for my mental health and poor knees, I just focus on calories in, protein,…
