You are in an identical position to me...I have started weight training (about 4 weeks ago) and this has overtaken my cardio workouts, although I will still run once a week and do a session at the gym on the bike now and then. I really enjoy my new strength training regime, much more than doing just cardio. I too am not…

Love this topic. I've started strength training this last month and although I don't see any results yet, I feel much stronger and fitter. Plus I enjoy it alot more than cardio, there's something very satisfying when it comes to lifting weights and pushing yourself to do one last rep or increase your weights. The women in…

My morning brekkie, it's my favoutite meal of the day. I have All-bran mixed with small amounts of sultanas, sunflowers seeds, pumkin seeds, linseeds and milk.

I did loads of research before I purchased mine and agree that 'whey isolate' is the best.

Some very good points!

Hi, I would like to join please. I'm 29, 5'6 and from Buckinghamshire in the UK, however I am living in NZ completing my 5th winter season ( i follow the snow). I am returning to the UK in Nov for good after being away for 3 years so someone in the UK would be ideal. I'm on MFP as my partner and I are heading to Thailand…

If you just up your protein intake as part of a healthy diet it will give you that feeling of being full for a lot longer. Your body needs fuel in the form of food, not capsules. You just need to make the right choices. I'd be very wary of a capsule that claims that.

Agree with all those about increasing your protein intake. Such foods might include eggs, yoghurt, fish and lean meats and nuts are great for a snack. Since I increased my intake, I've found that I really don't get that hungry at all. Good Luck!

If that isn't inspiring to all on MFP, then nothing is. Well done, your hard work has paid off. You look fantastic!

Nuts, especially almonds, are a good option. About 12 almonds equates to 100 calories. Another idea might be a glass of milk when you get back from all that exercise! Peanut butter is another good one on an apple.

Sounds like good common sense!

I also had an assessment at my gym last week and mine was 36% - quite a shock. I was hungover so dehydration could have been a factor she said, but still it's high. My gym doesn't push PT so I'm thinking it's pretty much correct. I've decided to up my strength training to 4/5 times a week instead of once a week and upped…

I was just buying my first batch of protein powder as you wrote your post! I too am an English girl living in NZ for the winter. I bought from www.raiseys.co.nz as they sent me a couple of free samples to try and I really liked them. I plan on taking 1 serving before or after I do my weight training routines 3/4 times a…

I love this site too, and have just ordered the gymboss to help with the workouts. I have a heart rate monitor to work out what I burn for each workout and for simplicity's sake, measure from start to finish to get calories, not for each individual exercise. However, I would say as with all exercise, it really depends on…

I did Zumba this evening, a 1 hour class and I burnt 402 according to my HRM.

This is the best transformation I have seen on MFP. Such a motivator! Well done.
-
What an amazing transformation, well done. Your pictures are very inspiring.
-
Well done! I have a HRM too and I find it very motivating.
-
I keep it going from the start of my exercise right through to the finish. So say I do a 45 min class, then cool down with sit-ups and then stretching, even though my HR has dropped by the time I finish the stretches, I don't stop it until my workout is complete.

I'm half way to goal...9.1 pounds down, 9 to go. I want to be able to buy and look good in a nice pair of jeans. Jeans shopping has always been such a horrific experience...I want that to stop.

I'm a Brit, although living in New Zealand for 6 months.

Lisa's Jalapeno and Lime, it's addictive! Maybe only found in New Zealand though?

I'm 5'6 and 156 pounds so not too far off. Friend me if you want. My goal is to lose around the same amount of pounds as you. Good Luck

I use the Suunto M4 (specifically for women) and I use it every time I do any physical activity. It measures my heart rate, calories burnt during exercise, and even creates a daily exercise plan for you based on whether you set it to lose weight, improve fitness or free training. After each workout you even get a…
