HRM vs. MFP figures??

So I used my HRM for the 1st time today and the number for my workout burn is lower then MFP by around 200 or so cals. I know that you can adjust the calorie numbers but my question is, do you separate each different activity and those numbers in order to log a proper number or can I just subtract the difference from whatever the overall burn is/was. As long as im not eating them back it really shouldnt matter right?
How do you use your HRM stop it between each exercise and add the totals up or just keep it on and reading the entire workout?
Noob questions im sure sorry...lol

I use my HRM and just reset it each time that I use it for each one of my 4 workouts a day.
I do not go by MFP numbers, I go by my HRM and just put the numbers in my Exercise Diary for the day.0 -
I keep it going from the start of my exercise right through to the finish. So say I do a 45 min class, then cool down with sit-ups and then stretching, even though my HR has dropped by the time I finish the stretches, I don't stop it until my workout is complete.0

I experienced the same thing when I first got my HRM. I was shocked to see I was actually burning about half what MFP was giving me.
I usually just pause my HRM between activities and then start at the next thing and log it all under whatever my main activity was. I just enter the activity into MFP and adjust the calories to whatever my HRM said. I know some people subtract for what their BMR burn would have been during that time, but I don't bother with that. If I was working out for hours maybe I would, but that just seems like too much of a hassle.0 -
I workout once a day anywhere from 45 min - 2 hours. I use what my HRM says and my final number is when my heart rate drops below 100. I don't the MFP database numbers.0

Good to know... I turned mine off immediatly when I stopped working out, I guess I could let it go until under 100.. Wonder what the burn difference would be.. Minimal probably?0
