Sick sinus syndrome refers to the sinus node of the heart. Also, 40% occlusion means less O2 is getting to myocardial tissue.

on one hand, people will say "calories are calories" whether you burn them slow or fast on the other, my body feels a COMPLETELY different way after doing some intense HIIT intervals, compared to a longer, more leisurely jog. I think my metabolism is just shifted into a higher gear for a longer time post-work out when I do…

call your doctor tomorrow please make sure you double check with your MD that he wants you to *increase* your Na intake. if you have coronary artery disease, AND high blood pressure, a ton of salt is only going to make your pressure worse. Your doc is not prescribing it as a diuretic as others have suggested- there are…

Yea i meant off exercise days, not off from work days LOL. I havent had a day off (exlcuding weekends) in quite a long time

kettle bell swings with a 50 lb bell is pretty much an awesome total body blast. 100 swings (with however many breaks you need) is a great way to get your heart rate up

...did you try searching for stairs?

gotcha thanks

posterior hypothalamus is what controls sympathetic drive, and regulates body temperature upwards. so, it makes sense that if you're blasting your sympathetic system with some intense weight routines, you'd "hype up" your body temp too

1.)these scales that measure body fat aren't accurate 2.) muscle is more dense than fat. if you are losing fat and replacing it with the same volume of muscle, you are going to have increased weight. then your BMI goes up

low thyroid levels are associated with high LDL cholesterol. be more mindful of the cholesterol content of what you eat.

i think some of the syrup is still on the fruit, but hey, it's better than chugging all that high fructose syrup

i doubt the problem is as serious as you describe. we all know the old story of seeing corn kernals in stool. things like blue berries and leafy kale etc are the same-- fruits and vegetables contain CELLULOSE which is not easily broken down by stomach acids. it is completely normal to see some remnants of fruit skins, or…

my shoes have gone way flat. it's probably 4+ months overdue for a new pair. does Target sell real running shoes or will I need to make the trek to the nearest running store? I need a high arched shoe so there's a pair of Acsics I have that are great

pretty sure HIIT is a measure of exertion, not defiend by what type of exercise. you could HIIT while biking, sprinting, climbing stairs, etc. its just about going all out truly giving maximal effort for a short period of time

I'm joining the foam roller group this afternoon Target has one for $24. reviews say it's a good product, but mention it's a bit stiff and gets taking used to. OK I admit there will be pain but I'll stick with it and I cant wait to roll out some of this lactic acid

Yea man using a saline spray is fine, but I doubt it will do much. Temporary relief of the turbinates is achieved with medicated sprays, but as I said they must be used with caution. Other (permanent) options are to a.) avoid the irritant or b.) surgical tear-down of the turbinates (has a chance of recurring anyway after…

I'm not an expert in exercise physiology, but I believe the anecdotal "internet knowledge" on the DOMS matter is that it is a phenomenon that occurs when one is out of season from lifting. I can attest to this-- whenever I take some time off and just begin the process of tearing down/building up muscle again, I get a full…

you admit to having (most likely) some degree of right septal deviation to begin with. In addition, I believe the lake water swimming (or some other irritant) is causing your nasal turbinates are inflammed, making the problems worse in recent times. so it's a combination of the two. ENT would be a good referral. Dont start…

heck yea. this is a pain that not many americans feel. consider it a mark of your hard work

Psychiatrist and/or psychologist for cognitive based therapy. they can work with you to intentify triggers, help you create healthy coping skills, and if needed, prescribe medications

Levothyroxine (thyroid hormone replacement) is not usually associated with weight gain. Hypothyroidism can cause high levels of LDL cholesterol- many doctors I've worked with fail to mention this.
-
I agree it is extremely frustrating. I think as long as you know you're getting a great burn and sweating etc, you can easily just eat a good solid amount of *clean* food that evening

Interesting, I thought DEXA was just used for bone density. learn soemthing every day, thanks! DEXA is just as accurate as water displacement, but has the downside of Xray exposure. Water displacement is a sound procedure

honestly I want a lot more friends so I can see their diets and get motivated by their workouts. so I'll add people here

I'm just gonna add as many people in this thread as possible :)

how do you like the jawbone up? does it seem to be pretty accurate in terms of your Pedometer and Sleep reporting? Does it sync wireless to your phone app? Basically, if the calories it tells you are wrong, is the thing just an expensive pedometer, and that's it? thanks!

sometimes you just gotta let those badboys drop after curling some xtreme weight

or **** around with your cell phone for 5 minutes between sets! "yea yea I see you guys waiting. I need to check facebook and send a few texts first!" back when I was in college this was annoying, I can only imagine how bad the cellphone issue has gotten in recent years

Hypoglycemia or Dehydration can both cause these symptoms after a hard work out. Make sure you're getting a good sugar boost before and after the event, and drink plenty of water (if you're not already). hope this helps
