I too have taken a lifestyle change approach as I believe that is what really works. I've tried so many times to lose weight with different diets that have all shown me how to pack the pounds back on. My lifestyle now consists of healthier eating and exercising a lot more. I find that I do sway somewhat, sometimes but am…

OK, feeling foolish. What are stronglifts? I'd appreciate knowing; thanks.

I know you said you are not worried about your legs or arms; but I would suggest doing squats with weights down at your side and when coming up raise them to your shoulders and then raise both arms. Once you get used to this you can jump with the arms raising. I find that full body exercises like this using weights is…

Hello, I have been on MFP since June 2011. I just turned 59 years old and find this site a great support media. If you care to, you can add me as a friend. For all those new members, good luck sticking to your goal, whatever it may be! :) Cheers Barb

I have dated men that are 9yrs younger than myself. I have found that men that young have been too young for me due to maturity; which doesn't mean all men 9 years younger are immature. I now am single and am keeping an open mind with age as I feel some men younger can have the maturity and experience I am looking for. As…

First I want to thank you for giving back. It's funny that you and I were the same weight, 217 pounds. I have changed my eating habits and started to work out in Sept. 2011. I have lost 50 pounds, 18.5 inches and am stronger now than I ever have been. Right at this point I am struggling severly and have been at a sandstill…

I stretch during and after my workouts. I lift so many weighs that I need to stretch while lifting and then I stretch afterwards too. I need to stretch my whole body and it feels so good afterwards. Love it:)

I am 58 years old; most people think I look younger; especially those at the gym. I think I look older because I am totally gray; although I feel much younger in spirit!

AMAZING; great work and dedication! You look awesome :)

Friends? Wow, I just moved to a small city last year and it is so difficult to find friends. I am a social person and there isn't much going on in the city where I live. I lived in a large city for 35+ years and have friends spread out but not here. Have a couple of close friends elsewhere but not here. I volunteer and…

I'm there with you. I have hit a plateau right now and have been playing around with my calories in hopes of a kickstart. Have about 20 more pounds to go. Patience is something I need to practice; something that is very hard for me! Barb

You're looking pretty awesome dude!! Congrats on your success so far. Barb

When I first started to count my calories daily, I was so obsessed with counting every single calorie and when I couldn't find the calorie count in a food I couldn't enter it cause I was so stressed. To be honest, it really isn't worth it to obsess about it; just record the best you can; it won't make that much difference.…

What a great accomplishment! You look absolutely amazing where you are now and I bet you feel so fantastic and healty. Yahoo!

I like to start early am; it seems i get a lot more accomplished during the day if I do that. I have gone in the afternoon too, but prefer mornings. I think it really depends on your schedule and what works for you. I'm not too sure if it really matters, some may disagree, but as long as you have a good work, what the heck!

I have just gone up to a man and started talking weights; asking questions; they seem to like it!
-
That mini goal is huge; you are doing so well and I'm sure you are motivated to keep going. I started at 217lbs and am now at 176lbs. You must feel so much better and you will continue to do so. Every mini goal will get you to where you want to be. Continued Success! Barb

I am feeling that I have extra loose skin as well and am a little surprised. I do lift weights and I still seem to have the loose fat. Will it ever catch up and do you have any idea how long it will take. My arms and tummy are the worst. Have been concentrating on those, but no results yet. Kinda disappointed! Don't want…

Unfortunately when you work out the weight oftens comes off the top first; it's pretty common. I have also lost from the top first; although I still have a bit of boob left. They say the bottom half usually comes off last. It kinda sucks really. That is what I am working on now; it seems to be a very slow process.…

I have a walker/blue tick hound who lives through her nose. She is white with black and brown spots and is often mistaken for a dalmation, although her spots are not like a dalmations at all. I also work at my local SPCA with all the canines there and love it! Most of the dogs we have there are pitty crosses and have been…
