  • The scale had me up 2 lbs last week and I was so discouraged. This week I lost those 2 plus 2 more!!! Yay!! Keep with it, it sometimes take time to see the results on the scale but even without the scale your insides are thanking you for the healthy food and exercise!! Keep up the good work everyone! :flowerforyou:
  • Ran another 5km yesterday. Yay me!! I have ran over 20km and walked up hill for 10km in the last 6 days!! I have been great with logging my food and staying within my calories too. I do use some of my exercise calories but I would starve if I didn't!! Tomorrow is my weigh in day and last Friday I was up 2lbs. really hoping…
  • Woo Hoo! did my first 5km running the whole thing today!! I started running 6 weeks ago and could barely run 2 minutes straight!! Also under my calorie goal for the day....gonna be a good week on the scale I think!!! Hope!!! :)
  • My weigh in day is Friday and I was up 1 lb. :( Weekends are tough for me and after a 1lb gain even tougher but I did ok and even though my eating wasn't perfect I got my exercise both days. Hoping for a good weigh in this Friday...already down the 1lb I gained plus 1 more...but it could fluctuate back up. My eating is…
  • This is what I needed to hear. I won't give up. I'm going to push through and keep at it. With that said I ran 5km today and feel great about it!

  • Thank you everyone for the support and encouragement. It's just so hard to make such a complete change and see such little results. It almost....almost...doesn't feel worth it some days!!! I know I am on the road to a healthier life regardless of what the scale says....it's just hard some days....today is one of those…

  • I thought that with eating 1200 calories and then burning 500 it was like only eating 700 calories which could put my body into starvation mode? My deficit would be well over 1000 calories on exercise days then....?

  • I'm in too!!! I want to try and get pregnant with my second child in January and need to lose 40lbs before.....this will get me started!! Let me know how to join! :)
  • It's tough to order in healthy! You could try a thin crust veggie pizza? Or stick with the veggie and lean meat dishes if ordering chinese or thai.
  • I try to not spend my exercise calories the day before and the day after a cheat day....I also exercise extra on my cheat day....
  • Thank you all for the encouragement!!! Went for a 4.75km run and mowed my lawns today. Total calories burned 700!!! Woo hoo! It feels good to make healthy choices!

  • Great tips here, I did most of them. Also had sex starting 10 days after I got my period everyday for a week. I was extremely lucky and got pregnant first try! Good luck!
  • I use the fat free plain greek yogurt as a sour cream substitute. I love it and a fraction of the calories!!! It's so creamy and thick too not light light or fat free sour cream!
  • Welcome!! I had a baby 9 months ago and was at my pre-pregnancy weight within 6 weeks after he was born!! Keep in mind I was at my heaviest when I got pregnant but then gained 40lbs during pregnancy. I had an emergency c-section and was not able to exercise for those 6 weeks but really wasn't interested in food for the…
  • I ran/walked 4.56km yesterday!!! I did it in 36 minutes with 30 minutes of that running and 6 minutes walking!! It felt really good. this week I'm increasing my running interval to 6 minutes and reducing my walking to 45 seconds. I plan to map my route to 5km and should have it done in around 30 minutes! That's my goal for…
  • Thank you for all the support!!! I've been using the Runkeeper app on my phone to map my routes as well as I've programmed in my intervals so it tells me instead of me always looking t the stop watch. I'm going to try the other app everyone is talking about too!!!
  • Hey there, I'm pretty sure you need a referral from your doctor if you want MSP to cover it. Otherwise it can be a bit expensive. I know up here in Northern BC there is also a waiting list to get it...but I hear the wait is worth it! Good Luck!
  • I have this one too. I only wear it when I work out as well. I've been told that they are not designed to tell you an accurate reading for a 24 hour period. But maybe it'll work.
  • Hi Dan, Welcome to the MFP community.:drinker: Hope you find it as helpful as I do. Shauna:flowerforyou:
  • If you're using your pedometer for a specific exercise, walk or hike then it would count. But if you just wear it all day then no its already factored into you BMR. But do add in the exercise cals for sure. Or at least most of them. Hope that made sense!!
  • Good Morning, I too don't have alot of time but wanted to say hi to everyone. I was down this week but barely!! I usually seem to have a big week followed by a small week. Last week was kinda big so so far the pattern is still in effect....lol. Hope everyone has a fantastic day! Shauna:flowerforyou:
  • Hey Blues. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been working my butt off lately which is kinda nice for a change. I start a second job next week so I'm trying to get as much done with my current job before. I think my ankle is finally healed enough to play soccer again this week. I'm looking forward to it! I'm going to test…
  • Hey everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. I did my usual fall off the wagon this weekend but think I'll recover fine by Wednesday's weigh in. Hope you all have a good week. shauna
  • 1455+18= 1473. Woo Hoo!
  • Awesome!! That's always a good pick me up for the day!!!
  • Morning everyone. WEll I was able to report a better weight than expected this week. Woo Hoo! It's a rainy day here and kinda gloomy. I'm going to try my ankle out at the gym today and see if it's any better. This 1200 cals is killing me. I need to earn a few more to prevent a binge! :explode: Hope everyone has a nice day!…
  • I don't think anything we say can really get you past this part of your journey. I agree that talking with someone and journaling can be great tools. Dr. Phil's weight loss book talks about the self sabatoge and people who keep themselves fat to protect themselves. I think it helped me work out some issues and I definitely…
  • I hope everyone had a good Tuesday. I live in the great white northern BC, Canada and haven't seen snow yet here! Lucky me so far I suppose!...hehe. It feels like it's coming soon though.....bbrrrrr! I weigh in tomorrow and think it should be ok. 2 weeks ago I gained and then last week I lost but not down to the weight I…
  • I know your frustration Connie. You've been losing weight so consitently and fast. Every now and then your body is going to adjust to that by not losing for a bit. I could be a few weeks or even a month. You just have to push through. I know it's frustrating to be exercising and staying within your calories with no results…
