  • Would the below combination work as a post recovery drink as well? Ovaltine double serving: 36g carbohydrate Whey half serving: 12.5g protein Water 8 ounces I'm trying to avoid drinking milk
  • The motivation for me is the end results and wanting the change. After watching P90X youtube videos and researching I decided it was time for a change, and I've been getting up ever since. I used to try to get up in the morning before and it would last a little while and just fizzle, but I'm proud to say I'm on week 6 and…
  • thanks for the info fire. So I don't need to worry about dousing my food with salt:happy: , obviously i wont go over my limit but i'm around 1000 below recomended
  • U're really trying to make weight huh? I'm over by 196 on my cals:explode: and probably need to log some wii time, or go running on the beach with my sister. I'm still getting used to the new low cals, i need to plan my food in advance.
  • I'm actually going to switch back to dairy milk from soy milk. Soy has phyto-estrogens (i think that's what its called), anyway someone in my family had a lump on their breast an the doctor told her to stop drinking soy milk because it may have caused that. Don't worry, its not cancer, taking antibiotics got rid of it for…
  • Yea, i thought so. I would look at my sodium, and think wow, if i wanted to I could douse my food in salt.
  • Congratulations on the wedding Michelle. If you have time you should go and see The Baths in Virgin Gorda when you go to the Virgin Islands. I don't think you'll have any issues losing the 10 pounds, just set your goals to 1 pound a week, and log everything making sure you follow the recommended calories.
  • I only log actual exercise. That other stuff is mostly accounted for in your necessary calories.
  • Yea, support is very helpful, and you can get a lot of support from us here on MFP. My best friend was the one that encouraged me to say NO. She's pregnant and had a bag on her shelf, and was able to say no.
  • Hi Dorito Queen, Maybe your solution is to change your name to Almond Queen! ... or (insert healthy snack here) Queen. The best way to get rid of one bad habit is to replace it with a good habit. So whenever you get a craving for something bad replace it with something good. Healthy snacks, I have are almonds, cashews,…
  • Hi Carly, Welcome to MFP and congratulations on making the first steps to your weight loss. You're definitely on your way with all the knowledge your gaining, and will soon have all the tools you need for your journey I found that the best way to get over those weak moments of wanting sweets (for me chocolate) was…
  • You should be able to achieve your goals in 15 to 20 weeks if you use the tools nutrition diary and exercise diary provided, and set your weight loss goal to 1 pound per week. Before I joined MFP i was simply just exercising and not paying any attention to nutrition, and realized that I needed to get serious about it, and…
  • Welcome to MFP Heather yes, they are great tools. the nutrition guide is the reason I joined. Without it, I'm clueless. The goals, along with both those tools really give you a scientific approach to your weight loss.

  • Plain nonfat yogurt with squeezed strawberries. Slice the strawberries in quarter pieces, and squeeze the strawberries on a plate with a fork. Then pour the strawberries and all the juice you squeezed out of them into the bowl of yogurt and mix. Squeezing the strawberries adds flavor and sweetness to the yogurt, and…
  • That is soooo true. There's my answer, I'll start doing 5 meals a day. Thanks for all your posts.
  • Thanks for the encouragement guys! I am realizing that planning out meals in advance is important, because I get home and just end up cooking what I have in the fridge, or ordering whatever is in the restaurant (I live in a hotel  ) So, I’m going to cook for myself, and I’m gona start checking out different recipes…
