  • Awesome that you are focusing on your health! Glad you are starting to feel the rewards of that! Set short term achievable goals to help you in your journey!
  • It takes a bit at the beginning to find all the foods you like to eat and put in the recipes you like but once you get used to it, it works the best of any weight loss method I’ve tried, and I’m 41 and have tried a lot! The only issue I’ve found is that it only works if you are using it!!!!
  • Great goal! Me too! I’m working to lower heart disease risks and become more able to exercise to be there for my kids!

  • You can do it! Set short achievable goals and before you know it you’ll be on your way!
  • Thanks! I lost my focus over the years but now have it back! I want to be healthy for my kids!

  • I use an app called happy scale. It takes out the normal fluctuations of your weight and gives you a nice pretty line. (Hopefully going downward)
  • I use happy scale which is an app which smooths out the ups and downs to make a nice straight line for your weight loss. I weigh myself once a day. If you're breastfeeding make sure you are getting enough calories to produce enough milk. And enjoy your Bub!!!

  • There is stacks of good advice here. I want to echo Asher_Ethan, if I restrict too much I have more problems with bingeing. I like to have a little bit of room for something yummy in the evening if I have to go over for it I risk a binge. Also when I was suffering from postnatal depression I wasn't in the right place…
  • I agree with the above posts. This is not a good place for you to be. Do you have doctors and counsellors helping you? I'm really sorry that you are going through this and hope that you find what you need to recover.
  • Plan ahead and have food ready for your lunch break and after work. I find if I restrict too much I binge so set your goal to lose 1/2 lb per week but that means you have to be accurate with your logging. Fit some yummy treats into your calories.

  • My stretch marks from my pregnancy seemed to appear after I lost weight. They were there previously but were more obvious after I lost the weight.
  • I'm really sorry you are feeling crappy :( I know what it's like to be in that place and hope that you feel better about yourself soon. You don't have to lose a scrap of weight to be good enough, to be loveable and worthwhile. Please listen to the good advice above and don't starve yourself.
  • My sister tested the iphone activity tracker against her Fitbit and it was 12.5% under the Fitbit for a thousand steps! I go for inaccurate- mfp exercise and then only eat back half the calories - it seems to work.
  • When I'm not in the right place mentally I just do my best to maintain and not gain. I think that therapy would be useful also depending on how long you have been feeling depressed and how bad that feeling is you may benefit from medication. Other things that may be helpful is taking some time out from your Bub to do…
  • What surface do you have it on? Also make sure you stand evenly in the centre. When we had floorboards I could reduce the reading by a couple of kgs just by standing just right.
  • A plateau is 6 weeks without a loss not 5 days!!!! Some reasons you may not see losses despite a calorie deficit in the short term are: salt intake affecting water weight, swelling of muscles after intense exercise affecting water weight, that time of the month causing bloating and also changes in amount of…

  • Your body weight is currently healthy you do not need to lose weight. If you want to tone your muscles eat at maintainance with adequate protein and exercise.
  • I don't exercise every day but I do log my food every day! Happy to help motivate you on your weight loss journey
