  • Added you. I'm a stay at home mum with 2 kids and would love to help motivate others! Feel free to add me!
  • Thanks guys! I've added you  I'm just about to go out for my first exercise of the week-so hard to motivate some days....

  • You can do this!!!! I find if I restrict to much then I binge more. So I have mine set to about 1500 Calories. Also if I'm tired I can't resist it either. So it's important to get enough sleep. I like your mini goals, that's a great idea.
  • I can't count the number of times I've started over!!!! My sister has chronic back pain, it's the worst. Wishing you the best on your journey.
  • If you're going to last long term you've got to find a way to have some treats without going overboard. Maybe you could stick to you weight loss limit Monday to Friday then on Saturday and Sunday still log everything but eat at maintainance. Then you get to have treats and still lose weight even if it's a bit slower…
  • 1.9 hopefully in a week
  • I'm setting mini goals along the way. First to be below 90kg, then to a BMI in the overweight range not obese, then I'll see how I'm going and decide what's next - maintain or keep on going.
  • Just found out that I'm iron deficient, no wonder I'm tired. Taking supplements now but it takes a while to work. Just going to need to get extra rest until they kick in. Doing ok on healthy eating except a little junk food in the snacks ( it's about half junk food half fruit and veg)
  • I was really struggling with emotional eating about a year ago. So I put off losing weight until I was a bit less emotional and focused on maintaining while I was upset. I just found that if I restricted too much I would binge eat and go completely over in calories way too often. The tiredness makes it even harder. I just…
  • My struggle is similar at the moment. Presently there is two tubs of gourmet ice cream and multiple boxes of ice cream ice blocks in the freezer, a double batch of mars bar slice in the fridge, chocolate blocks, yummy biscuits and chips in the cupboard. My way of dealing with it is to pre log everything the day before so I…
  • Sounds hectic! Glad the healthy eating is going well! I'm not good at exercise DVDs - zero coordination ;)
  • I snack on carrots, celery, apples, rice crackers. I eat 1500 all day with about 400 for breakfast 300 for lunch 400 for dinner and the rest for snacks. Eat a big salad with lunch and veggies with dinner.
  • I found I have to log everything I eat accurately (using a food scale) to get good results- otherwise I eat more than I think. Also only eat back half your exercise calories. Get your hormones tested for PCOS (polycystic ovarian disease) cos that can make it harder to loose weight.
  • If you get a little organised it can be easier in the long run. Cut up a stack of carrots, celery at a time and put into a box in the fridge to grab on your way out the door. Make a weeks worth of lunches on the weekend. Some supermarkets have ready to go salads. It's hard when you're busy it remember you are worth it!
  • Two weeks isn't very long in the scheme of things as your weight can fluctuate by a couple of kilos throughout the day and if you started on a low weight and then ended on a high weight then it might look like you have not lost any. Though if your scale is not moving at all it might be broken!!! Some ideas: Weigh your food…
  • Give it a bit of time even if its at maintainance. Some times the weight redistributes after you have lost it. I lose mainly from my waist then butt and thighs and lastly from my bust (which is too big!). You other option is liposuction.
  • I can't do 1200 or under so I make sure I do some exercise then eat back 1/2 the exercise calories. I also set my weight loss to 1/2 a kilo per week so it's more sustainable in the long run. If I was to do 1200 I'd do a VLCD protein shake for breakfast. Fruit and veg for morning and afternoon tea. A salad wrap for lunch. A…
  • Thanks. It's so hard to make healthy meals when you're tired, but I guess if I want to be healthy and have my family eat healthier then I guess I'd better get some system for the busy days.
  • Thanks. I always prelog my food the night before as it distracts me from eating more after dinner. I'll have to get some good recipes and start cooking up in advance. I think my weaknesses are in sweets, chocolate and biscuits!!! If I start eating them I find it really hard to stop. I'm sure that I'll learn heaps more as…
  • Thanks That's great advice. I'll try to remember to be kind to myself as I'm often my harshest critic. It is a lot of small choices thought each and every day.
  • Its pretty high on my list of priorities!!!! My house is a mess but I'm in bed ready for sleep. Good idea t get some help. I'll look into it.
  • Thanks, it's really hard to resist and sometimes I give in... I'm working up from nothing to 30 min at the moment but would ideally like to add in some strength training and increase to 1 hr a day. I'm not working at the moment because I'm staying at home with my kids which means I don't get a break until they go to sleep…
  • Medications can help but you may need to try some different ones before you get ones that work for you. Exercise also helps but it is really hard to do it when depressed. Try for 5 mins of walking and if that goes well then try to keep on walking. Increase slowly to 30 mins for best results. Planning meals helps you to…
  • I think tiredness plays a factor. I find with 2 kids I'm just not getting enough sleep so I crave more food and exercise less. I've got 25kg to lose. Stress also makes it harder to lose because it increases the stress hormone cortisol which causes weight gain and muscle wastage. Can you try to reduce your stress by doing…
  • I'm totally with you. My progress chart looks like a mountain range. I think I've lost the same weight 3 times over!!! I know I can do it cos I've done it before and this time I'm going to keep takeaway and junk food to a minimum to try to maintain it after I lose it. I also like the idea of having a few kilos to play with…
