  • I have a sweet tooth so I spritz the calorie-free, fat-free spray butter on the popcorn, then sprinkle Splenda and mix. It reminds me of caramel corn. Yum!
  • Just remember God isn't going to allow you to go through more than you can handle. Praise Him in the storm and He will answer. Keep the faith! Denise Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Calorie Counter
  • HOLY COW GIRL! What a transformation! I was overweight in high school and was ignored, teased, etc. But when we had our 30 yr reunion (yes, I'm older than dirt!) I got down to a size 8 and blew them away! The girls were flabergasted and the guys said, "How come I don't remember you?" Ha! Mission accomplished!…

  • I eat the WHOLE BOX of Jello sugar free, fat free pudding.. It's only 100 calories! But you guys are right, giving in to sugar is not good so I'm going to try to wean myself off sweets a little at a time. If you see me curled up in the corner whimpering you'll know why. Denise

  • Every once in awhile, I hear statements about how the amount of caffiene consumed may work against you when trying to lose weight. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? Thanks! Denise
  • Great article. And to think I used to use my kitchen just as a walkway to my back door - LOL! Denise
  • WOW! This is great information. I'm going to add some of these items to my grocery list now. Thanks for posting it Tam. Denise

  • Welcome, we're glad to have you with us. I totally understand about geting motivated about exercise (the ugly "e" word!). Try this: stand up straight, head up, shoulders back and stretch your arms high and then to each side. Stand on your toes and stretch your calves. Breathe deep several times and then repeat. You'd be…

  • Glad you posted -- it's the first big step. Try getting out of the house more (away from the fridge). Take some adult education classes, get into a craft group, start a hobby. Occupy your mind on other things and the time will go by faster; before you know it, it will be time for your next meal. Leave the hibernation to…

  • Congratulations on taking a very powerful first step -- acknowledging the real issues. All the posts so far offer FANTASTIC advice. I'd like to add one more suggestion: ask your doctor/nurse (or look for yourself) if there's a diabetic support group in your area. We tend to isolate ourselves in our crisis and that's not…
  • If you continually deny yourself of the things you love, you won't be able to stay on track for long. It's OK to have something sweet (look for sugarless snacks) as long as you stay within your calorie count. I have a huge sweet tooth so I keep fat free sugarless puddings on hand. Also someone told me to chew gum to…
  • Hello and Welcome Debcakes! Your friend was right -- this is a very comprehensive site and has the best support group on the web! In order for this to work, you have to love yourself enough to be honest about recording EVERYTHING you eat and your exercise. It's amazing how our bad (or good) habits come to light. Like Dr.…

  • Hi all! I'm new to this site and so far it looks great! I just spent >$100 on a pair of Asics jogging shoes. The store not only measured my feet but used a computer to record how I stand and walk in order to get the best fit possible. They feel wonderful. I used to wear nothing but New Balance. Anyone from Texas? Denise
