  • Fitbit will adjust your calories for you if you log it into mfp. If you have a heartrate monitor you can input that info for the activity in mfp and fitbit will adjust. Unless you have a fitbit with hr, it doesn't accurately measure calories burned because it doesn't take into account anything but how much your feet move.
  • It sounds like you are definitely putting yourself into a calorie deficit, which means that yes, you'll lose weight. But if you are working out that much and if you do anything physical at work, you are probably not eating enough calories.
  • Check out youtube for Leslie Sansone workouts. There are several full length workouts on there. I did a 2 mile one tonight. There are at least 1, 2, 3 and 5 mile workouts on there. Wish I had thought of youtube before buying the workouts! Btw, at least 2 of those are done for youtube, not just someone uploading a copy of…
  • My thoughts exactly! I always wanted to try nutella but wasn't interested in the 21 grams of sugar since I am hypoglycemic. Justin's is amazing!
  • If you get the liquid stevia, it's natural and from a plant. Not bad for you and not artificial. If you get the powdered kind, it's never pure, so it's mixed with something (dextrose, malodextrin, or inulin). And the powdered stuff tends to have an aftertaste while the liquid stuff does not. Hope that helps!
  • I have almost your identical stats (a few years younger and a few pounds lighter). I can lose weight eating between 1730 and 2000 calories per day. But I do have to exercise to be able to eat at the higher end of that spectrum (however, I have a desk job). Something else to consider - change up your exercise routine. Add…
  • I agree - call the Dr. Could be an infection or something.
  • Swimming is an excellent full body cardio workout. You don't think you're doing much because you're not actually seeing the sweat like you would out of the pool. Just be patient with yourself and realize it's going to take some time to see change. If you can do Jiliian Michael's DVDs, they are definitely great at improving…
  • Here's my tip (and you can add me if you want) - don't let one bad meal or bad day make you give up. Bad days will happen, you just have to do better the next day!
  • Really amazing! Great work, thanks for the inspiration!
  • A family of 3 or 4 or even 6 that need 2 96 gallon trash cans EACH week. Seriously? Recycle people. And maybe don't buy so much crap. People that don't use turn signals
  • 30 day shred or Ripped in 30 by Jillian Michaels. It will tighten things up for you so you should see some improvement if you can stick with it and eat at a calorie deficit. Good luck!
  • I don't know what crazy math your friend is doing. In fact, I'm pretty sure she's confused her fat and protein. You get 4 calories per gram of protein or carbs. And you get 9 calories per gram of fat.
  • Check your blood pressure. I had high blood pressure with both pregnancies and part of my warning signs were headaches and slight light headedness. When I experienced those symptoms again after pregnancy, that's what it was. Thankfully it went away on its own. But of course, there could be other dietary concerns as others…
  • I think a good question is - is drinking affecting the rest of your life besides just keeping on the weight? If the answer is yes - seek help! And you will have to REALLY look hard at your life to get an honest answer. If drinking is a stress reliever - try a hard workout. If you focus all your energy into that workout,…
  • Expect lots of accidents (at least at first). And boys seem to be too busy to go potty, so my 5.5 yo still has occasional accidents. It was the same for my nephew. If he's holding it til you get a diaper on him, I agree with a previous poster that said no diapers. If you want fewer cloths to wash and your schedule allows…
  • Optimum is a good brand (was recommended to me by an employee at vitamin shoppe). You can get it and many other protein powders at vitacost for a lot cheaper than elsewhere. Plus they have free shipping for orders $49 and up. I would definitely recommend whey protein over soy.
  • I think you need to measure yourself. How are your clothes fitting? Also, you may need to eat more... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
  • I have a 5 yo too and am finally trying to lose the weight. I'm starting week 2 of Ripped in 30 tomorrow. Feel free to add me!
  • I have the fitbit ultra and LOVE it. It has been a real motivating factor for me to get moving. I would recommend the fitbit one vs. the ultra since last I checked they are the same price but the one has a better belt clip and can synch with some phones and is more water proof.
  • I agree, at least cover your BMR. You could always try calorie dense foods like oils, nuts, nut butters, avocados, and cheese. I'm sure there are many other choices out there to help you get to your goal in a healthier way than sweets (nothing against them in moderation).
  • That's not really so out there. I'm supposed to eat about 1950 per day and I'm a 32 yo woman. Feel free to double check the numbers: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
  • Punches are great cardio. You can do jabs, upper cuts and crosses and really get your heart rate up.
  • I love Champion scoop back ones - only the high MCR ones. A different back might provide even more support (although the scoop back is excellent) but I want to scratch my back off with a razor back bra, but that's just me. You can get Champion ones on Amazon for a better deal than on Champion.com.
  • Amazing. I keep telling myself I need to get back to Ripped in 30 (instead of just ellptical and walking). I think you have inspired me to do it! Thanks and great job!
  • If you're still hungry every day, it might be your body's way of telling you that you aren't eating enough... Check this out: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 It will explain how to figure out how many calories you should be eating. You'll also need this link:…
  • To go along with the calorie calculator, check this out: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 It explains a lot. I too think you should be eating more. And if the number it gives you scares you, you could try slowly upping your calories. Hang in there. You can do it!
  • No no no, you're confused lol. Skinnier people don't get to eat more. It's that the calories on MFP aren't typically enough. Read this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 That should explain it pretty clearly. Also, use this link:…
  • Don't give up!! You CAN do it. Can you talk to a physical therapist? He/she might have some very helpful suggestions on exercises you can do that won't irritate your back. Sounds like walking is not one of them. What about a stationary bike?
  • You might actually need to eat more. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Trying different foods or eating at your TDEE for a week or so could make a difference. Keep going, you'll get there!
