Fitbit & Exercise

Your Fitbit logs and reduces some of calories intake....what do you do when you exercise do you add that on, or just go off the Fitbit registar of steps that is already reduced from calorie intake? I currently don't add my exercise/gym workout....Is this correct?

If your exercise is step-based (walking or running), it shouldn't be added. For anything else, you can log it in either MFP or Fitbit.

I do not log my runs as I figure fitbit has accounted for them. I do however log my weight lifting sessions

Fitbit will adjust your calories for you if you log it into mfp. If you have a heartrate monitor you can input that info for the activity in mfp and fitbit will adjust. Unless you have a fitbit with hr, it doesn't accurately measure calories burned because it doesn't take into account anything but how much your feet move.

I log non step stuff in Fitbit. I also am tracking my deficit in Fitbit. I just use mfp to log the food right now.

I log cardio exercise including running. Make sure you set the time of your exercise correctly on MFP. Then if you take 3000 steps between 10am and 10.30am but log a 30 minute run starting at 10am your calories won't be added twice. You will only add the running Cals (not the Fitbit step Cals from that time period).
