  • You are making a lifestyle change.I think as long as you portion control, you should be able to eat relatively normal meals. Heck for my first 20 lbs I lost I was still eating fast food burgers everyday. I just portioned it.
  • I have anxiety induced chat pain, but it doesn't have to be heart related.mine is located Above my right lung, and its related to stomach acid. 1 zantac takes care of it.(took a week of daily z to make the chronic Pain I was having go away. Now I just take it if it pops up again)

  • I dunno, I've lost nearly 100 lbs so far, and for the majority Of it all I did was swap regular pops for diet. How much are you drinking? If salt its your issue I think the most I've seen its 40 to 80 mg of sodium per 8 ml. In the grand scheme of sodium intake daily its not a lot.

  • I've got an hrm, so I don't even use the calculators for calories burnt. I just make custom ones.put in calories burnt from the polar.
  • 1200 should be right around the line for starvation mode. So that warning keeps popping up until you pass the line. (even if your 1 calorie shy). By the way, starvation mode just means your metabolism slows a bit. It shouldn't make you gain weight.(from the research I've read on it)

  • Portion control. Bad foods are only really bad, if you eat to much of it. I wouldn't give up on your recipes and your passion for cooking. instead find a way to mix some of the bad in with the good.

  • I'm not really disagreeing with you on your point, which I'm assuming is don't starve yourself. Just simply that the calories listed here on the site are ballparks guesses at best. On a side note I saw your thread, about how rude people make you angry.I hope that wasn't in reference to my reply.
  • Purely my opinion, but I think a fad is a fad is a fad. ;) its possible that the twigs nuts and berries diet may be able to get you to lose more weight, by filling your belly with lots of low calorie fillers.   • Weight loss is always going to be about running a calorie deficit.how long have you been trying? A normal/healthy amount of weight loss is about 1 or 2 lbs a week, which isn't always immediately noticeable due to water weight.

  • Hi Natalie. I can tell you from experience that weight loss is more related to diet. Its also not so much what you eat, but how much of it you are eating. Luckily keeping a food diary (like this website, and its associated smart phone app) is a great first start. Good luck!
