Hi im in UK and also on the lookoout for serious people. I was almost at my goal weight but injury knocked me of course. im back no though and happy for new friends. add if you like. thanks

6 months to get to 10 miles.... deffinately! Start with something like couch to 10k like poster above said, or couch to 5k then bridge to 10k. and then just up your milage of your long run by 10% every week or so; ensuring your get quality runs inbetween. Have fun running :)

thanks all, looks like brisk walks, and sponge baths of heavier/hotter days. I just thought id make use of the extra time ill get, as iknow ill get bored regularly. Real shame there is no gym near by as i would love for that to be my resistance sessions, be perfect timing!

I deffinately think it should go ahead. Having fun and enjoyment in the worst of situations is what its all about. Its that why alot of people run for charitys? There is alot of time to clean up, build, repair morn.... Taking 4 hours out to forget all that will help. Just my opinion :)

hmmm i thought it maybe something on the lines of this, last few times iv been (not that often) im learning bilateral breathing. Wow thats like 1.8 gallon of water! I wouldnt like to say its not possible but my guess its not and be something to do with your scales, either they are broke or you stood on one side or something for one of the weigh ins, i always place my feet in the exact same position when i weigh in.

Just dont go too crazy. I understand that noone has ever died in Marathon from dyhydration. but too many have of drinking too much. I usually drink around 3 to 5 pints aday (including my coffees) more when i go on +1 hour runs
