When you enter your personal information (age, height, SW, GW, etc.), MFP assigns a minimum number of calories a day just to keep your body going. For many people, 1200 calories is the number given. Your number may just be different is all. :-)

You are looking amazing!!! :-) So proud of you!!!

Wow!! You look fabulous, girlie! :-) So excited for you! Thank you for being brave enough and confident to post your "before" and "after" pics to help keep us (those of us with a lot to lose yet) motivated. BRAVO on your success!!

This is a great suggestion. I buy frozen treats that are 100 calories or less; they're usually pretty good, albeit small in quantity, and I still get my "fix". I'm sorry to hear your dad is having a hard time and you obviously care about him and his goals. Have you walked with him or tried some excercise classes with him?…

I use Arm & Hammer with Oxy Clean - it's a powder in a big yellow box. I used to use Tide, but it was sooo perfume-y (if that's even a word! lol), but I find that the A&H stuff keeps my clothes looking good and smelling fresh - I have an oober sensitive nose and have been happy with the switch to A&H. Besides, the Oxy…

My husband is a runner and when I first started running, he gave me some tips, as did my marathon-running boss: (1) start your run SLOW (think "buffalo shuffle"), (2) make small goals for yourself at the beginning - e.g. go three light poles, walk to the next, do three more, get to that far mailbox, etc., (3) breathe in…

 Thanks for both of your "10 Things" posts; I've enjoyed both!!!

I sought help from a personal trainer and he helped me with my diet. He told me to use Whey protein to help repair my muscles after lifting and the increased protein will keep you fuller longer. I use the Gold Standard brand and toss some powder into a morning smoothie to get both the protein and my breakfast (fruit,…

Totally agree that I feel that my day isn't "complete" unless I work out. I also purchased a coctail dress I purchased YEARS ago that's been hanging in my closet with the tags still on it - it's a goal of mine to rock that dress when I lose the weight. One thing that helps keep me motivated, too, is varying my workouts…

Feel free to add me! I have about 35 more pounds to lose and I hit the big 3-0 this year. I've "fallen off the wagon" and am BACK and would love to give/get support to keep us on the right track.

I'm happy to help support you and offer encouragement, if you'll add to my support net, too :-) I agree that seeing posts from MFP friends is so helpful and inspirational. Feel free to add me if you'd like! 5'5" 30 y.o. SW - 202 CW - 191 GW - 155

I wear Brooks shoes, but my husband wears Aasics; it's more of a personal preferance in how they fit. My best advice is to go to a local running store, where all they do is specialize in running. Those types of stores tend to have extremely knowledgeable staff, technology to assess your feet and how your feet strike the…

Anyone on this thread, feel free to add me, too! :-)

Hi! I am still on week 1 of the C25K program but think this is a good program. If anyone is interested in supporting each other throughout the full program, feel free to add me as a friend and I'd be happy to be a cheerleader for you :-)

Great job!!!!! You look amazing and so incredibly happy

Is everyone having success losing weight (with or without adding excercise) by being at 1200 calories per day?? I have the same problem, trying to get enough calories, by MFP's standards. For about 2 or 3 years, I had used the LA Weightloss system (before they closed) and lost all of the weight I had wanted to lose, and…
