  • I use an Adidas bag that I love. It has only one inner pocket that I use for extra hair ties/bobby pins, but I carry a small makeup pouch (shaped like a cylinder) to carry deodorant, feminine products and travel sized shampoo/wash. Normally my bag has the following:* Gym shirt * Gym bottoms * Extra socks * Water Bottle *…
  • This. I worked as a fast food Shift Supervisor after college because I took time off before grad school in order to get the in-state tuition rate later. I eventually left that job for my two current (retail/administrative) since I want to be debt-free within five years with a PhD in seven. Many of my coworkers were either…
  • My ex liked to bestow random names on people, and I liked the name even after we split. (even though someone already used it on youtube, the jerk! (lol)) That, plus the comic book Zera, inspired me to use mine.
  • Just my two cents, but even after having a degree for a while the only job I could get was a fast food manager. My fiance is still in school, so moving wasn't an option (we live in a smaller town), and it took a LOT of applications to finally get to an office, and then get a second part time bookstore manager job. Bills…
  • It's a mix of the two. Yes, they want to to make the food as delicious as possible and have people buy more and more, and keep coming back to buy more. However we are responsible for our eating habits. It's a double edged sword. People will argue both sides of the issue. You can't blame it all on the corporations, and yet…
  • My stepmom had my sister and I do Atkins when she went on it. Honestly I did so much better on Atkins - energy, less fatigue, and (the best part!) weight loss. I'd say it depends on what works. Some people can't handle carbs well, some need more than others. As long as she's feeling well, and gets enough nutrients from…
  • I'll definitely check this out! Thanks! Nerd Fitness (I think that's what the site was called?) also had a good beginning plan that I plan to use. XD
  • Most of my meals end up in IF style due to work - I work long hours and generally get a short window to eat, then too tired to eat when home. Seems to be working well enough.
  • I weigh about 2x what I probably should. I know the number's flexible because I'd rather weigh 130 of lean/muscle than 140 of flabby fatness. So I understand the goal will change. I didn't consider the fact that trainers could specialize like that. Thanks! I love hearing everyone's comments. I would reply more often but…
  • Your posts have all been interesting. Sounds like maybe visiting a gym and trying one or two sessions might be useful to see how I like it. Thank you! :D (feel free to keep posting opinions/etc, btw! :D)
  • Sounds like an interesting study. My thing would be that if I had kids, I'd focus more on their exercise instead of worrying about their diet. I'd limit fast food, and try to add more veggies, but my focus would be going outside with them, encouraging them to sign up for a sport, etc..
  • You do indeed! You could have fit 6 more hours of play to make it a whole day! :p
  • Lucia, you gave me too much lip. I'm sorry, but it's over. :p
  • Xbox360, WiiU, and computer games mostly. Been playing MechWarrior Online, League of Legends, and Freespace 2 lately.
  • I believe it's up to the mother, but yeah, I either scroll past it or remove that person's updates. It's something that I don't mind if people do, whether public or not, but I can easily avoid looking at. and that's my main point. I can always look away, and that's a better reaction than telling the baby what they can or…
  • Oh no! A forum with active posters? The inhumanity. - - - - As per the topic at hand, if they've got the confidence, go them. Go anyone wearing one. Yes, people judge - and we all do it. But after someone leaves your field of vision they're usually forgotten, whether your opinion is good or bad. So wear what you like, and…
  • I've seen that. Kudos for her to reacting calmly. It's one thing to critique yourself. But to tell someone they have an obligation to lose weight because of people seeing them? Where is that person's letters to the shows with anorexic-looking personas? If people are going to insult due to weight, please have the…
  • It's a blast.
  • Congrats on the weight loss and NSV!!!
  • I have a lot to lose as well. About 80 to go here! I'm closer to 200 than I'd like to be, and a goal weight of about 107-120.
  • Some people just need less. The 1200 estimate a day is just that - an estimate. If 800 works for you, then continue that, just make sure to take a vitamin. It'd be good to probably talk to a doctor or nutritionist just to be on the safe side.
  • Try inviting her to dinner or a workout session? Dinner can be home cooked and healthy.
  • I almost hope this ends in a *kitten* punch. But yes! Follow up afterward!
  • My hero.
  • I taught my three year old brother to go "om nom nom" when eating. It's hilarious.
  • I say "veggies" most of the time. Though I feel veggies and vegetables are interchangeable. It's my food, I'm pretty sure it doesn't care what I call it.
  • I feel like I'm jumping in this a bit late, but why not throw a two cents in? Disclaimer: I'm a fan of meat. (huge fan - like I could add meat to a double down). Vegetarianism seems more political than anything else, though I understand that there are people who just do it for personal preference of taste/etc. Judging from…
  • I listen to my body. It's been getting full around 700-800 calories, so I choose to listen to it lately and ignore MFP's "not eating enough." Eating too much got me the weight I am today. I figure, if I'm full and have energy while losing weight, it shouldn't matter what anyone says I *should* be at. :)
