  • I think one of the most important things about weight loss is patience. We all want a quick fix-but the truth is, this is not easy and it cannot happen fast AND be successful! You have to make it a lifestyle change. If you change your eating habits then you will be able to keep the weight off. If you just wait until you…
  • I really believe that planning ahead is important! If you know what you are going to eat it takes all the guesswork out of it when you get hungry. Trying to decide what to eat when I am hungry makes it much more difficult to make "healthy" choices. Try it for a few days and see how it goes. Plan foods that you enjoy and…
  • I think you would! It is all about calories vs calories out. When I first started on my weight loss journey 80lbs ago I ate mostly unhealthy! I do WW and always stayed within my "points" and lost 60 lbs. I then began making the switch to healthy eating. So to answer your question...... yes, I think you can lose weight by…
  • Hello! I think the key is moderation. This is something I am still trying to learn to do! I get really strict and cut everything I love out of my life when I am feeling really motivated. Then SLAM a temptation comes my way. This typically starts binge like behavior. Then I gain a few pounds. Then I get strict again......…
  • Manicure Pedicure Hot bath with a good book (glass of wine if you drink) New Shirt or other clothing item' New Song for ipod New book New Scented candle New nail polish color New pair of "fun" underwear
  • A glass of skim milk. An egg white and veggie omelette. Air popped popcorn. A bowl of oatmeal. Veggies and hummus dip.
  • I eat oatmeal with sliced banana in it. Add cinnamon if you like...... YUMMY
  • Hello! I have been doing WW for 5 years now! I have lost 80 lbs and have been maintaing well. I recently joined MFP to "shake" things up for me. I really think they both work well. You have to find what works best for you and keeps you motivated. Neither is "easy", but both will get you to your goals if you stick with it!…
  • The only other thing I can suggest besides skin ointments (vaseline, body butter) is for your thighs. Can you wear long shorts? Kind of like biking shorts that stay in place without the padding. Just a thought. The ointments do work well though.........

  • They are both important for overall health!! BUT, weight loss is really about calories in vs. calories out. So you can still lose weight without exercise. With exercise the weight will come off faster, you will feel better, look better and have an easier time maintaing your weight loss. I recommend BOTH!!!!
  • Take it one day at a time! You can do this! Good Luck!
  • Just take it one day at a time. Pick one or two small changes and work on those. Once they become more of a habit, pick another change or 2 to work on. If you try it all at once-you might quit. I really think taking small baby steps will help you stay motivated!!!
  • In Weight Watchers we call all those "extras" BLT's. Bite, Licks and Tastes. One day I recorded my BLT's. Just to put things into perspective..... I get 22 points a day on WW. I ate my 22 points that day. I also ate 20 points of BLT's. So, without realizing it I was almost doubling my caloric intake on most days. No wonder…
  • This is when it is VERY important to just keep going. Don't let the scale derail you. You have to think about the BIG picture. Just keep going and then in a week or 2 or better yet a month you look back at the changes. I KNOW this is very hard to do. Almost impossible. I think it is a key part of success though. Not…
  • In other words...... just keep swimming! (no matter what the evil scale says) :)
  • Popcorn!
  • I was going to say run early.....but you are already doing that. I would make sure you went into the run VERY hydrated. I would also take water with you. I think eating is a personal choice. Some need to before exercise, some can't before exercise and some it does not matter. If you do it-I would make it a light carb or…
  • As you start to lose weight and feel better you will have more energy. You can use that energy to help motivate you to exercise more. In my opinion the BEST thing you can do to exercise is find something you LOVE LOVE LOVE to. If you can do that-nothing will stop you. If you LOVE it, you will make it a priority. Trying a…

  • Sometimes after we have been "dieting" we get comfortable with what we have learned to do differently. Sometimes a plateau can simply be ourselves becoming a little "lax" in following our plan. I am not suggesting that this is your situation-just one worth thinking about as you go through this journey and hit another…
  • The Beck Diet Solution and Workbook. I highly recommend them! Good Luck!
  • Peel them. Freeze them. Use them in smoothies. Makes a smoothie more like a cold shake!!! Yum!!!!
  • I completed my first triathlon! Who knew!?!?!?!?!?!
  • Count me in! GREAT idea! I will now go on that bike ride that I was contemplating NOT going on! This challenge came at the perfect time for me. Thanks!
  • My name is Jill and I am interested in joining this wonderful group. I have read through some of these posts and you are all truly amazing and an inspiration to me. I have lost 80 pounds through Weight Watchers and am working on my last 10. I am in a rut and can't seem to stay motivated long enough to lose these 10. It is…
