  • Trying to get more active. Been catching up on back log of laundry, trying to reclaim kitchen, cook meals (& better ones for myself than past) and clean up after. Seems like nothing to most ppl Im sure. Being a month free of chronic seizures....its priceless to me.
  • Roasting the bones adds depth of flavor and color. I roast veggies too and then simmer with roasted bones, reducing for richer stock.
  • Welcome and best of luck on your journey. I agree with setting not-too-lofty goals at first. Nothing feels worse than thinking you've failed at some difficult goal. It can sure lead to an off the wagon moment.
  • My daughter introduced these to us. So great filled with finely chopped asian veggies cooked in low salt soy and miso. We've filled them with beef and veggie taco fillers too. Egg salad with chopped tomato is a great brunch served in endive boats with fresh fruit and a mimosa. Just saying.
  • Recently went to Olive Garden and they had a grilled zucchini app that was great. I did it at home. Sliced the zucc, light brush of EVo, grilled both sides a bit and just before done sprinkled with whole wheat panko seasoned with basil and oregano and a a dust of parm. Now a favorite.
  • Might sub soysage for the bacon. Tomato in eggs is so underrated, like avo.
  • Several days meat free. Feeling better in a few areas. Not so sluggish after meals, internal processes moving along better :D Still feeling the urge. Cant remember back when I quit meat decades ago but it couldn't have been this hard lol. Enjoying all the veg shows streaming and reading new recipes. Working on it.
  • I cube it and add it to veg chile, particularly green chile dishes. I love it as soup with a stir of yogurt on top.Great when hungry but recovering from tummy issues. It goes well in black bean enchiladas, there something about that hot and slightly sweet. mmm Ive cut it into sticks and added it late in a stir fry so it…
  • *I like overnight oats (steel cut because they are so nutty and yummy) with craisins and pecans, cinnamon and maybe a spoon of 1/2 & 1/2 if my projected count can take it. *I like the prefab soysauge patties, hot and spicy, sliced to make 4 rounds, brown in Pam spray and have on whole wheat, maybe a bit of all fruit jam…
  • This. Smuckers all fruit jams are amazing. A spoonful on lite vanilla ice cream. ooooh yeaaah.
  • *I freeze several veggie patties ( I use Morgans Veggie Patty recipe from Guy Fierri. Lots of flavor and freeze well without falling apart on cooking). *I make a squash and bean green chile that freezes well and is great with a hunk of corn bread. I found a Clean Eating recipe for sweet potatoes, mushrooms and spinach with…
  • Dont know if its "enjoyed eating" exactly but after 25+ yrs veg I find myself struggling with an addiction to cheeseburgers as comfort food. It started about 3 yrs ago when I began having seizures and somehow meat entered my life. Doing much better now. No meat for several days, already feeling better, less sluggish and,…
  • I eat too much ceareal, for sure. Cheerios is my all-time favorite but Great Grains Pecan is a weakness.
  • lol What was I smoking? lol *tumblweed blows by. door creaks in the distance*
  • Spent the last cpl years going through the rats maze of healthcare and diagnostitians. Finally got a DX of rt Temporal Lobe Epilepsy to add to the TBI and joint injuries. No stranger now to tonic-clonic seizures and waking up on the floor. Depressed sometimes so for totally unknown reasons began eating cheeseburgers as…
  • Many struggles past cpl years. Did lots of emotional and stress eating. Didnt gain, due to meds and seizure days but gained food addictions. Was veg nearly 3 decades and now eat cheeseburgers as comfort food.
  • I'm back. Was down for 3yrs with serious health problems. Getting that sorted but very much emotional / stress eating.
  • Have been down 3+ yrs w health problems. Have rtTLE with tonic-clonic seizures. My goals arent as great as yours but for me, just as tough. 1)log calories honestly (shame keeps it closed for now) B)make 10 - 15 minutes at slow speed on dreadmill. maybe more as year progresses, who knows and III)get diet back on track so I…
  • I am instantly enraged by the limp appendaged little man who walks his unleashed dog past my house every morning and lets her crap in my yard. I keep a clean yard, I clean up after my own FIVE dogs everyday and this *kitten* wipe lets his mutt merrily leave land mines for me to pick up. I'm eyeing a wrist-rocket at the…
  • *looking for power switch to raise this place from the dead like Frankenstein' s monster* (*)
  • I do love a chik'n (veg) nugget but mainky for the dipping sauces! Oh hot & spicy bbq, honey, sweet & sour, red chile paste, brown mustard.. I turn an otherwise decent item into a wave of sugar, sodium and empty calories :ohwell:
  • Hello to everyone who has dropped in recently. It's been a bit of a ghost town. I'm trying to reform my ways and get back in gear again. Hope to see more posts.
  • I still haunt the group. I confess I kinda use it as place to whine and go on endlessly about my excuses/addictions/sins and successes.
  • Rough summer. Was off the wagon for a while and didn't log and check in like I should I was more successful when I was logging everything I ate. Today I put on a pair of size 10 jeans. Kinda snug but they zipped so thats a start. I'm still wearing ky 14s just because they are comfy but they look awful. Since I've been back…
