@rogerOb1, I am taking a Whey Protein powder but I don't see where BCAA'S are listed? Would it be under another name? Thanks for your help!

Thanks Dav, just trying to understand what my body needs and doesn't need. I've mastered the cardio, now trying to branch out and learn/do more weight training....ouch!

@KseRz, Yes, my training session is at 6am so right after I wake. Interesting comment about being in a "fasted state" which I guess I would be in since I haven't had food since the prior evening. Thanks for the response!

I made my first MIM yesterday, it was very good...much better then I had expected! I did experience a little stomach discomfort, I'm guessing because my system wasn't used to so much Flax. I tried the basic recipe but I'm excited to try a savory version to use for a sandwich.

Ok I did a test today and I was surprised the fit bit was pretty close to the HRM, only 33 calories higher on the fit bit. I hope this helps!

No, I haven't compared but I will and let you know.

I use a Fitbit and HRM, I use the Fitbit to see how many steps I've taken but trust my HRM for calories burned. I LOVE both!

My Dr. also suggested a low carb lifestyle, she recommended that I read "Why we get fat and what to do about it" by Gary Taubes. I just started eating low carb this week and am thankful for the other low-carbers here to share ideas with. Although my craving for bread/crackers have subsided I still feel the desire or…

I just started reading "why we get fat" per the suggestion of my Dr. Personally I know my body is very sensitive to carbs, so these findings are of interest to me. I agree it's a good idea to read the book before making a conclusion, I also agree do what works for you!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's fall Keri, I hope she mends quickly. When unexpected things happen it can sometimes put a wrench in our healthy living plans but iit sounds like you're still able to stay active which will make a big difference both mentally and physically. Keep strong and make sure to take care of…

My goals for October are a little unsure as I'm going to be on vacation in Italy & England for the first 2 weeks of the month. I do plan on walking a lot and being aware of what I'm eating BUT I'm going to enjoy every bite and not feel guilty for indulging in the local specialties, plus the wine in Italy is cheaper then…

Missy, thanks for posting the question....the EXACT thing happened to me yesterday at a new gym. It was obvious he was trying to sell his "trainer" package, he even admitted that's where they make their money! Like you, I walked away frustrated even though I realize he was partially right as I know I need strength…

Yes, you can! I ran for the first time this weekend (jogged actually) but what amazed me most was how much easier it was the next day. I'm planning on starting the C25K in October when I get back from vacation. Like some of the others, I'm a 2-bra work out girl!

Thanks for all the great success stories, I've never run/jogged before this weekend because I thought I was too heavy. The first dayI had to keep reverting back to a walk and was so out of breath....the next day I couldn't believe the improvement I made, I went a slower pace but was able to jog non stop. Now I feel I have…

Chuck, congratulations on the scale victory..yay! Gwen - I hope your back feels better soon, I know how painful it can be. I had back surgery almost 3 years ago and went through many years of pain. Pilates worked wonders for me, mainly to strengthen my core. I still try and use the reformer a couple of times a week. I hope…
