edited October 2024 in Fitness and Exercise
I'm getting back into my diet and exercise plan tomorrow (Sept 1) and am looking for some motivation. I have a sedentary work-at-home desk job and am looking to get moving. Anybody up for a 10,000 step challenge? Let's try to see how close we can get to 10,000 steps each day for the month!

I'll try it. I also have a sedentary job, but if I focus on it, I do have time where I could get up and walk.

Let's post daily and see how that goes. Sounds like we've got a lot of support to get this going!

Just wondering - how do you track the steps? Using a pedometer? Sounds interesting ----

Yes, I use a pedometer. 30,000 steps is a bit too challenging for me. 10,000 is challenging enough for now, but for those who want to go above and beyond, by all mean go for it!!! :

FYI - I created a Walking (steps not minutes) in the Cardio options. So instead of minutes, I could enter in steps to calculate calories burned. (My pedometer estimates calories based on steps so I used that.) Wanted to pass it on in case anyone else would find it useful.

If it helps, I've found that for me 5000 steps = approx. 2 miles.

My total for today is 10,083.

I couldn't find the exercise you created under cardio of walking (steps not calories). I tried to create something similar, as my pedometer shows how many calories I burned in a day. However, when I create the exercise, it says I have to fill in a number for the duration. It's hard for me to calculate that, as I wear it always. Any advice you can give, I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks!

12,229. Started out slow today but pushed late in the day with indoor mall walking, as it rained all day.
