How to enter weight updates in new app layout?
What happened to the app? I used to EASILY enter a weight update right at the bottom of the screen. Now I can't find where to do it.

Recs for a utility weight bench that can be stored out of the way
I need to modify my daily workout routine from attending a gym every morning to doing a home workout certain days of the week. I have adequate space in my garage for a dumbbell/kettlebell/calisthenic and would like to get an adjustable utility bench for doing different dumbbell movements like flat and incline…

Need a rollout fitness map for concrete garage floor
Can you recommend an adequate workout mat that I can quickly put down on my garage floor, then roll/fold back up when I am done? I can move my car out of the garage, deploy some type of mat to give me a car-size workout space, then need to be able to stow away the mat and any equipment and put the car back in. I am hoping…

After switch to Premium iOS app not syncing. Must force a sync
MFP always did perfect and timely syncing whether I was viewing or entering data either in the website or the iOS app. I am now on the fee trial for Premium and no food diary entries entered in the IOS app appears on the website unless I go to the IOS app settings and force it to sync. Is there a a fix. And yes...I am…

Recommend a protein powder with minimal calories?
I have nearing the end of shedding 45 pounds of bloated fat. I have a few pounds to go yet. I have also started strength training as at 55 years old I think I have lost some muscle due to aging, and didn't have much to start with as I have a thin frame. I still want to keep my calories under control, although will begin…

Tips to get in my carbs? Usually coming up short
I'm using MFP to lose weight. Generally I'm hitting or sometimes exceeding my protein and fat goals but usually coming up well short hitting my carb goals. My nutritionist has stressed that getting my carbs in is important. Awhile back I was exceeding my sugar goals, but some food swaps helped me dial out some of that…

Hitting my fiber goals but lately getting harder to poop!?!?! What?
Over the past 3 months I've been losing weight, eating predominantly whole foods, hitting my calorie/nutrition goals which includes daily fiber goals (for me it is 30g). I've specifically added fiber to my dashboard and making healthier food swaps to help me achieve that goal. But the last month or so I've had increasing…

Recommended peanut butter protein powder?
I am not knowledgeable about protein powders but want to experiment with using it to increase protein by adding to recipes, etc. Initially I want to use it in homemade smoothies to add some protein, body and flavor.

Low cal flavorings to add to pasta?
Suggestions for low cal flavorings to add to small serving of pasta? I sometimes like to have a side of penne or farfelle sometimes but don't want to add in things that add many calories. Does the pump spray like Parkay add much flavor?

Milkshake or smoothie recipe using Atkins Dark Chocolate Royale protein shake?
I've been enjoying these Atkins Dark Chocolate Royale protein shake every couple of days - they fit my calorie goals and help me get protein. I'm wondering if I can make a 'real' milkshake out of them by throwing it in a blender with some ice? Is that enough or do I need to add some low fat milk? A banana? Anything I add…

How to get better at stretching?
I'm 55 and I've never felt very successful at stretching. Hamstrings and back always feel tight when I do stretches recommended by PT and fitness trainers and never seem to improve. I'm currently at week 8 of a renewed fitness/nutrition journey where I do a post-workout set of stretches 6 days a week and just not feeling…

Website to show alternative compound movements to replace Cybex machine routine
At age 55 I was finding I lacked the strength, endurance and mobility for many day to day activities so I returned to the gym. I was really surprised at how weak I had become. But I established a 3-day rotating workout routine of mostly Cybex weight machines and after 3 months am noticing significant improvements. I have…

How much protein as I exercise through a weight loss ?
I’m 55 and recently returned to the gym after years of inactivity and weight gain had me feeling weak, old and lethargic. I have about 30 pounds to lose which I am already shedding due to the increased activity and eating less crap. It’s been 4 weeks and I’m already feeling so much better. One goal is to increase strength…

Looking for a healthier pancake recipe
I periodically get a craving for pancakes. I tried the following recipe: 2 eggs 1/2 banana 1 scoop protein powder (I had none so used 1/4 cup regular pancake mix) splash of 1% milk and I selected a sugar free syrup This ended up being lower calorie than my usual breakfast and more protein, so I like that aspect. My…

Losing weight has been relatively easy
I gained a lot of weight over the past couple years because I had become less active, was over-eating and making poor food choices. Various aches, pains, aging and appearance concerns were dragging me down and effecting my mental health. I finally had enough and I knew it was all up to me to do something about it. I joined…

Interactive food swap app/website?
A year or two ago I used to use a website that would offer healthier alternatives if you entered a specific food. I thought it was Eat This, Not That but no longer see that as a feature (aside from an article or two with limited suggested swaps). Any suggestions for a tool that does this?

The food database is full of crap. Verified means nothing!
Go look at all the "verified" Perdue chicken breast entries. The variance is ridiculous. And who verifies this stuff? [Edited by MFP Mods]

Why would chicken thighs have more calories after being cooked?
I am adding my dinner of grilled chicken thighs to my food diary. The packaging for my Perdue Boneless skinless chicken thighs says a 3 oz. portion has 130 calories uncooked, but then increases it to 180 calories cooked. I could see if this involved a recipe but we're just talking the chicken only! How does this work?!?!…

None of you log sweet potatoes?
The food database is slam full of crazy custom entries for sweet potatoes, all of them user contributed. How come no entries with a handful of people agreeing to the nutritional values? I spent 10 minutes trying to log the sweet potato I just steamed and ate. Man I hate that food database. Which entry would you use? Am I…

Fried fish - how much oil sticks to the food?
I fried 5 ounces of fish today - about 4 hand-sized or smaller relatively thin filets. I used peanut oil and trying to figure out how much to factor into my calories. I use a thin breading so there isn't a lot of oil that absorbs into it, and I pat excess oil off with a paper towel when removed from the skillet. I'm…

Is there a food database 101 post somewhere? It's driving me nuts
I feel like I waste a lot of time sifting through food database entries to find an accurate item. It's full of made up or personalized entries, along with a much smaller number of accurate entries. Today I wanted to log a medium apple. There were no USDA entries except for ones people made up. And entry after entry showed…

Today's comparison Charge HR output against Runkeeper
I realize I'm not comparing apples to apples here, but I did want to see if the Charge HR heartrate output paralleled the elevation output tracked by Runkeeper on my morning trail walk. I walked it pretty hard (for me). Runkeeper, which uses GPS on my iPhone to know the elevation and speed: Charge HR which should be using…

Instructional website for good bodyweight exercises?
I've used push-ups and sit-ups to increase activity during periods of weight loss (in addition to my main exercise of power walking). Staying disciplined to knock them out each day, and then being able to increase reps over time, has been part of sticking to my plan. I'd like to switch to better exercises and hope there is…

Are my MFP recommended macros appropriate?
I'm learning a lot about food nos that I am logging everything I eat. And I'm paying more attention to the Carb/Fat/Protein graph I see everyday in the app (why not on the web?). MFP has me shooting for 50/30/20 for Carbs/Fat/protein. I'm asking if that is appropriate as my reading in some other macro threads has most…

Does website show the macro pie chart like the app does?
The MFP app shows a nice pie chart with my daily (and weekly) macros. It adjusts based upon my food intake which helps me pick foods that will lead me towards a good macro balance for the day. I don't see the same pie chart anywhere on the website. Am I missing it?

Need to add 300 healthy calories. Ideas?
I'm going to increase my weight loss goal from 2 lbs/week to 1.5 lbs/week so need to find about 300 additional calories to eat. Do I let MFP update my goals as my weight drops?
I lost a few more pounds (yay!) and went to update MFP using my iPhone app. It asked me if I wanted to "update your goals based on your new weight?" I assume I should answer yes, but am curious what it does if I do that? And what does it do if I say no? My plan is to continue to use MFP to track calories and exercise to…

RunKeeper inconsistent results?
I'm using the RunKeeper app to track power walks and love how it automatically updates MFP with my calories burned. Today I did a test to see how consistent it is. Honey vs Sugar in my morning Oatmeal
Is honey a better alternative than granulated sugar in my morning oatmeal? I usually put 1.5 teaspoons of sugar in my oatmeal (along with some raisins). This only adds 23 calories. Any way to enter historic weight entries?
I used another website to track calories and weight prior to switching to MFP. I'd like to move a few of my historic weight values over to give me a better long term view of my weight changes. Is there a way to enter older weight values from before I joined?
