Crushed my second toe. So upset with myself.
I am straight up asking for sympathy here, and a little advice. Yesterday, while organizing my work bench in the basement, I dropped a ten pound speaker on my second toe (right foot). After deliberating whether to go to urgent care (I don’t want to be another body during this pandemic) I finally went. X-rays were taken and…

Broke my toe into several pieces

Looking for fellow theatre artists
Anyone here work in theatre, particularly non-performers? I’m a sound designer and composer for theatre (42yo, female, 135lbs). Long hours in dark theatres (“hurry up and wait” boredom) lead to an excess of snacking for me (and often a lack of exercise during those 10/12s). I’d love to find some fellow theatre technician…

Invisalign and a new way of eating
Okay. I just got Invisalign yesterday and I hate it. Like a foreign object in my mouth that every fiber in my being wants out. BUT I’m paying a lot of money for this so in my mouth it stays. What I’m hoping is that maybe it will create a new, disciplined way of eating. Which, uh, I guess means less, random snacking. 😬 Has…

Bursitis pain. This really sucks
I think I may have bursitis in my left hip. For the past three weeks I’ve been feeling it but it has gotten much worse in the last several days. It’s frustrating because I love jogging but now I can barely walk. Ibuprofen helps slightly but not much. Seeing an orthopedist on Tuesday. Anyone else ever deal with this and…

PMS
I swear to god, PMS makes my stomach like a sieve. I cannot stay full. Also, #bloating.

Packing for vacation and...
I’m packing for a trip to Hawaii and none of my shorts fit me. They’re all too big!...

Swimsuit shopping
If there’s a better way to feel worse about yourself than sitting half-naked on the floor of a poorly-lit dressing room trying to figure out how in the HELL the bikini top is supposed to work (how many times do I wrap it around? Wait, which way is front?), then I don’t want to know about it. If you need me, I’ll be dressed…

Why does my stomach still look fat?
At 5’4”, 40 yo, and 132 lbs, I’ve lost 12 pounds. Yay! Except... my stomach is still rounded and I still have two small back fat rolls. What the hell? WHY? I know you can’t spot reduce but this is so discouraging. I don’t know. Not sure if I need advice or just to b*tch.

Losing weight but stomach and arms are still squishy
My stats: 39 years old Female 5'4" SW: 146 CW: 136 It's only ten pounds, but since I'm petite and wasn't that heavy to begin with, I can't understand why my stomach and arms are still fat. If I've lost ten pounds, where did I lose it from? This is so frustrating. I despise how my stomach and arms look (especially in…

How long does it take for those extra calories to catch up?
Let's say I over ate my calorie goal for a few days. How long does it take for those additional calories to be turned into extra poundage?

5'3" - 5'4" ladies, what are your weight goals?
I need some perspective! :)

Do "normal walking around" calories not count?
I read on another discussion thread that the calories you burn doing everyday things - grocery shopping, cooking, going up the stairs, etc - do not and should not count toward your overall calorie burn for the day. Is this true? I'm perplexed! I usually count those calories, as well as their steps, IN ADDITION to the ones…

Fractured rib, herniated disc, sciatica. This is awful.
First, in November, I injured my back. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc (L5) and sciatica in my left leg. It was so bad it necessitated an epidural. This was a huge setback to my exercise routine, which had been going so well. I was so proud of myself. So after that healed, I vowed to get back on the horse. I was…

Fell off the horse and seeking encouragement.
The week before last I was crazy busy with no time to workout, and in a high-stress/long hours situation that kinda crushed healthy eating. (I work in technical theatre as a sound designer. Back-to-back tech weeks are TOUGH.) But one week off isn't the worst thing in the world and I was all ready to get back on that horse…

Doubting the scale (in a good way)
When weighing yourself and seeing that you've actually lost a couple pounds, do you ever doubt it? I keep seeing these (low) numbers on the scale that I haven't seen in YEARS and I go, "nah. That can't be true. Have I actually lost five pounds??? Holy crap!" It's kinda like trying not to count your chickens before they've…
