Skipping Breakfast
Can skipping breakfast be helpful for weight loss - provided that you do not over compensate on other meals? I often eat breakfast just for the sake of eating breakfast, and I wonder if I could cut out that meal to lessen my calorie intake?

First week of working out and eating well and lost nothing !! :(
Been getting up at 4:00 am each day to fit in a workout before work (been lifting mostly) and really watching what I eat and I have lost nothing !! I know that people will say to wait to see results - but wahh!! Is it worth just not weighing myself for a while to avoid disappointment?

Lipoedema Diagnosis
Hi, I've just been diagnosed with a disease called lipoedema. It is "a long-term (chronic) condition typically involving an abnormal build-up of fat cells in the legs, thighs and buttocks". When reading through information from the NHS professional who diagnosed me - it states that "Lipoedema does not respond to dieting –…

If it's all CICO - why can't you outrun a bad diet?
This is purely for debate purposes - if weight loss is purely calories in and calories out, why can't you 'outrun a bad diet' - surely if you run enough to burn off the calories of a bad dietary intake, you can for all intents and purposes outrun a bad diet? If a person is in a caloric deficit surely they will lose…

I'm sick of hearing that 180lbs 'wouldn't look right' on me!!
Hello guys, I basically just want someone to tell me that I'm right !! haha !! I'm currently at around 240lbs and my goal weight is 180lbs. Every time I tell someone that I have another 4-5 stone to lose (56 - 70 lbs) I'm always told 'that's silly' or 'that wouldn't look right on your frame'. I am tall, but 180lbs is the…

Help - Cardio Withdrawal
Hello All, So I'm usually a bit of a cardio junkie and tend to spend most of my time on the cardio machines at the gym - mostly the treadmill. As the running seemed to be doing less and less for my weight loss, I've decided to incorporate some strength training into my workouts. I have starting lifting (using Nia Shanks…

Running - Trying to Improve but Frustrated
Hi Guys, I run regularly on the treadmill at the moment - I know that outside is best, but I have a bit of a dodgy knee that plays up when running outside and live in England, so lets face it the weather isn't the best - anyhow - I'm currently running 5k in around 40 minutes (which I know is abysmal) but whenever I take…

Barre on Rest Days
Hi Guys, I tend to have 1-2 day off a week from exercise. I do around 60 minutes every morning apart from this as well as walking around 6.5 miles 3-4 times a week. I hate having rest days though, so I have started doing Barre workouts on my rest days. It still burns a significant amount of calories (I use Fitness Blender…

Any Fit Fatties out there? :P
Hello All, Just wondering if there is anyone out there in the same boat as me? I started my weight loss journey using at home workouts on Fitness Blender and running outside. Food Scale Help
Hello, Sorry if this is a stupid question. I've recently purchased a food scale but I'm having trouble as to how to fit it in. Basically, as me and my husband are out of the house pretty much all day at work and then picking the monster up from nursery, all of our weekly evening meals are prepared in a slow cooker so that…

Can Anyone Get Lean?
Random I know - The ultimate goal is to get a more lean look. I've always been big and spent most my life thinking that it was 'genetic' or 'how I was built'. I've now lost around 45lbs and as I get smaller, I'm realising that it was my lifestyle and not my genetics that contributed to my size! If I continue to lose, it…

Is it okay to go 'hardcore' whilst trying to kick out of a plateau
Okay - I normally lose at around 1700 with a decent amount of activity, however, the past 7 weeks or so, my loses have stopped and I've even gained a few pounds. I have joined a gym and started a new exercise regime so not sure if water is a contributor but hey ho - any hoo - I'm looking at doing a bit of a 'kick start'…

Hi Guys, I've joined the gym this week. I used to gym regularly before I had my daughter. Prior to joining the gym, I had been running outside every morning and had been steadily losing weight. Water and Running
Hello All, I run between 2-3 miles around 5 times a week. I run first thing in the morning - as soon as I get up, I am dressed and out of the door. I have never eaten before working out and couldn't stomach the thought of doing so, however, I was wondering if ensuring that I have some water before I go out or during my run…

Hello All, I'm currently regularly running around 5k between at around a pace of 10-12 minutes a mile depending on the day. Build up Speed or Distance
Hi People, I have recently embarked on running after weight loss got a bit stagnant using Fitness Blender and I just wanted to switch things up. Today was my third run (I am using Nike + Coach app). I managed 2 miles in 24 minutes so around a 12 minute mile - which I know is rubbish but I was rather chuffed that I managed…

Want to Ditch the Scales - But think I'm a bit addicted !!
Hello, I have been steadily losing at a decent rate by calorie deficit and cardio. I have recently introduced lifting into my workout schedule. I weigh myself every morning and over the past 2 mornings I have seen an increase on both days - equal to about 3-4lbs. My rational mind is telling me that this is just…

Newbie Lifting (If you can call it that!!)
Hello All, I have recently purchased my own weights to begin lifting at home. I am using Fitness Blenders Supersets Videos. I started off with around 16lbs in each hans and that was too heavy so I dropped to 11lb in each hand and I still felt that my form was off as the weight was too heavy so dropped to 5.5lb in each…

Hello All, I'm relatively new to MFP. I currently do a lot of cardio and bodyweight strength training and have lost nearly 30 pounds but I would like to start lifting.
