Piriformis syndrome and running
Wondering if any runners out there has dealt with piriformis pain. Most importantly I’m wondering if it’s ok to run through some mild pain. I have had it for 2 months, seen an ortho, started PT, replaced running with spinning. It’s getting less painful but definitely still there. I’d really want to get back to running…

What’s your threshold HR?
Those who monitors HR while training - have you ever measured your threshold HR? Say through a tempo run or a FTP ride? I’ve been measuring mine and it stays around 175. I wonder if there’s room to improve.

little neck clams - 12 kcal a pop?!
Just venting.. Steamed up some clams today - easily ate 30-40 of them at one go and barely full.. they are so easy to eat! When logging I noticed they were almost 12 kcal each which means I ate 480 calories?! That was a shocker!!

How many pounds does it take for you to lose/gain 1 inch?
For ladies in a regular weight range - say 19-22 BMI, or 21-25% BF - how much weight translates to 1 inch on your waist or thighs? I gained 1 inch around both waist and thighs after putting on 5 lb. curious about others experience.

Tested for RBR after 1-yr diet & training - 2020cal - "starvation mode" busted!!
Breathed into a mouth piece for 10 min after 4 hr fast. Does anyone think 2020cal sound too high an RMR for a 5'6"/126lb female? My total TDEE comes to 2,500-2,800/day. 22% BF. I'm thinking of giving everything a 30% discount just to stay on the safe side for maintenance. Either way - I'm relieved that the year of dieting…

Share you cheat meal experience!
I'm not familiar with cheat meals - so I'm not sure what to expect after I binged yesterday. Been really disciplined with eating and training (run) for 3 months, never really binged. Yesterday I got frustrated with work and ended up binging at night, ~1,300 over maintenance. Certainly felt bloated today - got back on…

Took one full year to START seeing results? What gives?
So I put on 7 lb beginning of 2016 and have spent the entire year trying to lose that. Tracked calories (5'6"; 130lb; ~1,300cal per day), worked out (run 25miles/week, spin, weights). Nothing. Nada. I stayed on track anyway - just because it felt like the right thing to do.. Then this year - boom, the inches/weight started…

How many calories from Spin class?
How many calories do you guys log for 45 min of spinning? I average 175 watts, pretty rigorous effort. I'm typically log 300kcal to stay on the low end. Wonder what y'all do. Thanks!

Finally losing after 7 months! What worked for me.. mindful eating
After 7 months of weighing my food and myself - and not losing - I took a different approach and am finally seeing results. I do need to caveat this post by saying a) calorie in calorie out is important b) some form of logging is helpful and c) i started at healthy weight and didn't have much to lose (needing to lose 1-2…

Restricting calories till period stopped - still not losing weight
Been netting 1000cal for a few months now, haven't lost a single lb. over the past 2 months my period has been light to non-existent - it has been regular for 4 years. I know it is because of the diet because I'm on the pill so the cycles are relatively fixed. I'm losing hope, not sure how else I can lose the 10lb I gained…

7-month plateau - getting desperate
MFP reminded me that I've logged 210 days in a row. Which only serves as a painful reminder that I've not lost any weight in those 7 months. I'm 5'6", 130lb - I've been 120lb for years, but gained 10lb last year due to sports Injuries. Want to lose them to get lean for marathon race. Training hard weekly - rigorous run…

10 lb to lose, no progress 8 weeks in
for ladies who have less than 10lb to lose - how long did it take before you see progress? I'm 5'6" @130, I want to get down to 120lb. I just want to cut down to a lean weight for a race I'm running in April. Been eating around 1,200-1,400 and slightly increased workout intensity (I've always been working out - been…

Gained 3lbs after 3 weeks of dieting/exercise
Started dieting 3 weeks ago (1,000-1,200 net cal/day) and have tried to avoid weighing myself, relying on tape measure mostly. Stepped on the scale 3 weeks in - up 3lbs. Waited a few more days and that weight hasn't come down so it's definitely not water weight. It can't be muscle weight either because, well, nobody can…
