Does This Uterus Make My Stomach Look Fat?
It seems there have been a slew of posts lately of slender women thinking there is something wrong with their stomachs because they aren't completely flat. Instagram and photoshop have warped our views of what a normal female body looks like. Not to mention that female body shapes and fat storage patterns change as we…

Mountaineering
Anyone here with a Mountaineering background? My son is moving to Banff for an Outdoor Guide program and I need to get him a hard shell jacket good for skiing, mountaineering, climbing in alpine regions. They recommend the Arc’teryx Alpha AR. It’s a $600 jacket. Now I don’t mind paying for quality that will last….but are…

Beat Saber
Any other nerds out there addicted to Beat Saber? It's kind of sad to say, but it's my primary source of cardio right now. It's so fun, I can easily blow an hour playing. What's some of your favorite songs? Please share. Here's a list of the ones that I have tried so far that I think are the most fun: Can't Stop the…

Any lower limb amputees?
My father just unexpectedly had to have an above the knee amputation as the result of complications from blood clots. Are there any amputees on here? Once he's out of the hospital and rehab facility I want to work on improving his upper body strength and cardiovascular health. I'm thinking swimming and rowing (I tried…

Grip with a fused finger
I had hand surgery about 7 weeks ago on a broken ring finger and pinky. Both with mallet fractures involving large fragments across the joint. What they call a Class IV fracture. The ring finger wasn’t as bad and only needed closed reduction with a single pin. The pinky was badly deformed and required an open reduction and…

Slippery Deadlifting Platform
So my gym just recently put in these really pretty deadlifting platforms. They have a nice cushioned rubber matting on the outside and are hardwood in the middle. As much as I love the rubber, I'm struggling deadlifting now because of the hardwood. I'm pretty short and like to sumo deadlift. My legs are not long enough to…

Persistence, Practice and Patience.....not Perfection
I was doing some thinking on what attributes we need to have to learn any new skill, be it weight loss, career, education, fitness, hobbies, etc. I realized that they all start with P. With persistence, practice and patience I believe we can accomplish anything. You don't need to be perfect at it. You'll fail plenty of…

Maintenance Failure - Gained all the weight back (w/pics)
I gradually regained all the weight I lost almost 3yrs ago. Moral of the story - don’t let the scale be your only measurement of success or maintenance.

Guys - stretch marks on back
Did any of you guys get stretch marks on your back when going through puberty? My son had a little growth under the skin (you can see a little dark spot where it was in the stretch mark) and when it popped out, he got a stretch mark in the same spot. It was just really weird. The dermatologist said it was probably just a…

Is this group still alive?
Wow! I wish I had known this group existed when I joined MFP 2 years ago! It's hard to find a group of women so similar to my stats who basically want to just improve their body composition and health. Anyone still around?

What the heck?
So last night I was trying check out my back to see if my right scapula was winging, and then I protracted my scapula and saw this. Is that my lat??!! My left side does not look like this. I mean, you can see the demarcation, but it doesn't stick out. Is this normal? I have impingement issues on this side, so just…

Leg Compression Machine
Anyone have one they recommend? I'm torn between two models after much research. One is considered a medical device and Dr. recommended, the other is slightly cheaper but seems to have similar functionality and reviews. Sequential Compression Device by Air Relax. Compression Pump, Foot and Leg Massager, Leg Compression…

Progress on 5/3/1
I just finished up my third round of 5/3/1 and it seems like I have made very little progress over 3 months. I know I'm at a spot where I will no longer quickly add weight, but I just want to make sure I'm not just spinning my wheels. I mainly went with 5/3/1 due to it being a shorter session length. I missed a week with…

Body Composition Method Comparison
Warning - This is going to be long. I got a small unexpected bonus from work the other week and my husband told me to do something for myself with it. So I decided to finally splurge on some body composition testing. It's been 6 months since I started my journey to get back in shape, so it was great timing. I was in a…

Forearm fatigue
Anyone else feel like their forearms give out before their legs/back doing deadlifts? I had to switch my grip three times this morning during a set because my forearms were about to fail. My legs were feeling OK and I think I could have gone heavier on the weight if it wasn't for my forearms.
