What are some of your unpopular opinions about food?
I’ll kick it off: I think Girl Scout cookies taste disgusting.

Besides keeping track of calories, what else are you doing to maintain your overall health?
I have gotten better about eating vegetables, taking walks, and cutting out toxic relationships. I also save watching/reading the news for right before a workout- I find it so aggravating.

What’s your plan for Halloween?
From the opinions being posted on my neighborhood Facebook page, seems like my neighborhood is going full steam ahead on trick or treating on Halloween. My plan is to Grinch it up early this year and keep my porch light off in the hopes they avoid my house. 😁

Fell off the wagon - anyone else?
I am feeling disgusted with myself. I was at 135.8 pounds less than 2 months ago and now I am back at 154 (F, 5'10"). There wasn't even a major trigger for me to fall off the wagon- I just ate out at restaurants a few times and it snowballed into me going back to eating anything I wanted. I tend to stabilize around 154…

What are your favorite motivational/inspirational quotes or sayings?

Should television advertising of fast food / high sugar foods be permitted?
I’m inclined to say that since Joe Camel doesn’t grace our television screens, the fast food and breakfast cereal commercials should get lost as well. What do you think?

What new or revised public policy/law would make it easier for people to maintain a healthy weight?
Or prevent obesity? From a maintenance perspective, I wish calorie disclosure would go further. I would like to see mandatory calorie counts for all restaurants and shops selling food items, regardless of number of locations. Not to the extent of sending food to a lab for measurement, but at least calculating calories for…

Did anyone else decide the last few pounds just weren’t worth it?
I’m a 5’10 female and used to be 128#-130# in college. I’d classify myself as sedentary overall, though I do physical activities like hiking and surfing on weekends. My weight stays between 150-155 pounds when I don’t track calories. However, I always seem to be in this vicious yo yo cycle of getting back down to about…

What commonly given MFP Forum advice do you personally disagree with?
Nutrition/fitness/weight loss.

What did you do with clothes that are now too large for you?
Keep or donate? If you are keeping them, why?
-
What food/drink did you love when you were a child, but can't stomach now?
Strawberry flavored milk. Just the thought of it makes me gag a little.
-
How does a typical dinner for you now compare to typical dinners from your childhood?
For me, there's not too big a difference, but I actually eat all the vegetables now!

Foods you were OVERestimating calories for before you used a food scale?
So I had a revelation today with avocados. I always just assumed a medium avocado was around 250 calories. I bought a normal (to my eye) sized hass avocado today. Scooped out the contents from the skin and removed the pit. When I weighed the actual edible avocado, it was only 90 grams (144 calories). What a pleasant…

How did losing weight affect your period?
I've lost about 10 pounds (5'10", CW 140) and noticed that my menstrual cramps have gotten a lot worse since I lost that weight. :( I'm going to check in at the doctor, but was curious if this has happened to anyone else? Has your cycle changed at all after losing a bit of weight?

Hello from Jacksonville, FL!
Hey everyone! I am trying to lose those last 5-10 pounds (5'10" F, CW: 145, GW 135ish) and just generally tone up / get fitter. I am in terrible shape as far as running goes and tomorrow I'm going to start the C25K!

What foods do you always have on hand in your refrigerator / cupboards?
I just moved into my first place on my own and am planning a big grocery trip later this week to stock up on staples. My refrigerator currently looks quite sad with its jar of pickles, Greek yogurt, kimchi, and Diet Coke (I've been eating a lot of takeout the last few days!). I am just curious what foods you all tend to…

What food/fitness/health "hack" has made a big difference for you?
I have started cutting up vegetables I buy at the grocery store as soon as I get them home, before putting in the refrigerator. I am far more likely to eat them when they are ready to snack on. Before, I would buy vegetables, let them sit in the fridge all week, and then throw them away since they'd rot before I could…
