Protein?
So, let me get this straight... While losing, I need to eat 100g of protein a day to preserve as much muscle as possible, right? Just wanted to make sure about the number. And don't worry, starting next week I'm lifting weights 5 times a week for an hour daily. (Just because I actually like it, I know I don't need that…

SWEET!!!!
So after 2 months on keto, I decided to eat more moderate carbs, or rather, balance my macros more. (30c, 30p, 40f) I ate some raisins this morning, and I swear they were INSANELY SWEET. Never thought I'd call raisins sweet. This comes from a woman who used to eat condensed milk from the can!

LCHF and weight lifting/strength training?
So, I made a thread saying I'm going to be doing an hour aerobics at the gym 5 days a week. After a month or two, I figure I'll start weight lifting on the machines (heavy weight, few reps). I'm wondering how I should change things up nutrition wise to accommodate this exercise? Currently I'm set to 10%c, 25%p, and 65%f.…

I am the most impulsive person I know...
I just booked myself into a gym for a month, after seeing their advertisement board. Without thinking, without doing research, without anything. So, I guess I'm booked for an aerobic class Mon-Fri at 07:30 now. Lol When I walked out of there I was like "What the heck did I just do???"

Meh...
Do I HAVE to do strength training?? Yes I have a few videos, but I LOATHE doing them. I hate it. Seriously. I much prefer walking over ANY other exercise and have kept up with walking for 3 years effortlessly. There's no "Ugh. Gotta go walking again. " It's more like a "It's raining?! Nooooooo! But I want to go…

Anyone interested in being friends?
Is anyone interested in adding me and being weight loss lchf friends? My diary is open, although I eat mostly the same foods. And also, don't go back more than two weeks in my diary... Lol I didn't log accurately then. To be fair, not too accurate now either but I am logging everything.

LCHF and cold?
What a wonderful time for me to get a cold! On week two of 50<g carbs. Obviously I don't want to mess it all up now, then I'd have to start induction all over, AGAIN! Any suggestions? Should I eat at maintenance or keep my deficit and just skip the exercise? Should I still stay low carb?

I exercised for 2h 50min today...
It was a quiet Sunday...... :D

Will I lose muscle mass from walking?
I'm on my feet most of the day and walk about 4.5 miles daily. Is that too much cardio? Not that I'm trying to walk that much... That's just how it goes. Will I lose muscle mass because of that?

Will I still see progress?
So I'm 23, female, 5'2 and 135lb. I've been trying to lose weight for about a year at a 0.5lb p/week setting. But I end up eating up to maintenance because I'm just hungry and feel "out of control" (since it's up to maintenance I don't see it as out of control but it's the only way I can describe it). I've started thinking…

Should I exercise during induction?
I currently eat between 40-70g of carbs a day, and I've been doing this since Monday, (I did last week as well, but I caved and gave in to carbs so I started all over), and I'm craving sweets particularly at night. I'm not sure if it's because of exercise? I am overall active during the day and walk about 3.5 miles. On top…

Please silence my fears... Make the voices stop...
So I live in South Africa where there is currently a lot of opinions on banting and so forth. A lot of people are saying it's bad for heart health and causes clogged arteries, or that it increases bad cholestrol or whatever. One side is really for it 130%, the other is 130% against it. Some studies have also shown that…

Introductions - and failures...
Hi everyone. I'm 23, female, 5'2, 135lb. I eat about 1560 calories a day (set to lose 0.5lb a week), and do strength training (just some home videos) 5 times a week. Other than that I'm active and on my feet most of the day. I've been trying to lose 20lb for a year. Everytime the cravings get to me and I end up…

Saccharin?

Lower Carb Snacks?
I've been advised by some fellow mfp members to add more fat to my diet, because it might help with my mini-binges and satiety issues when in a deficit. (My diet used to be low fat) So currently my macros are something like this - 100g protein, 50-100g carbs, and 90g fat. But I can for the love of me not come up with…

Lower Back DOMS?
This is probably a stupid question. But I did some strength exercise that supposedly targets the lower back (pilates swimmers, on a fitnessblender video). And now my lower back hurts a bit when it bends (when I sit or stand up). Is that DOMS? I know it's obvious that people get DOMS from exercising, especially when just…

Feeling nauseous after workout?
Hi, I'm a lurker here and I have a question. So today I did a 16minute workout from Fitnessblender. It's a total body toning workout based on strength training, for beginners. Low impact. At the end though I felt really nauseous and I had to pause the cool down to lay down for a while. This hasn't happened to me before…
