Ideas for keeping your salad fresh?
Anyone have tips on how to properly store your salads? I buy the kale antioxidant salad kit and find it goes slimy several days before the expiry date. The bag costs $7 so it makes me mad!

Be more patient or cut more calories? Plateaus
Please help me figure this out. I am a pretty patient person. My goal for weight loss has been 0.5lbs per week and I want to lose 20lbs. When I started using a food scale, my weight went from 177lbs to 170lbs in approximately five months. However, I have lost NO weight in the month of February. I even gained/lost a pound…

Exercised early and now starving!
Since I'm out of work right now, I've been jogging around 11:30am - two hours after breakfast. I've vowed to wake up at 7am from now on and hit the gym before breakfast, in order to be more productive throughout the day. Problem is I am starving now! My appetite has gone haywire! What do I do? My calorie target has always…

Logging salt intake
Can someone please help me figure out how many grams of salt comes out of this salt shaker with every shake? I usually shake around 6 times at dinner. Is that a lot?

Can I swap cardio for weight lifting and still lose weight?
I'm tired and aching from all the running. Can I ditch the cardio and lift weights instead and still be on track with my weight loss goals? For every half hour of running, I was allowing myself an additional 100 calories. I was doing this 4 x per week.

Do I have to adjust caloric intake as I lose weight?
I'm just wondering why I am not losing weight anymore. I've held at 172 lbs for three weeks. I've lost a total of 8lbs over five months. Has my calorie goal changed as a result, and if so, why doesn't the app calculate for you?

Is more exercise counter-productive?
Exercise stimulates my appetite. On days I jog, I allow myself an additional 130 calories (and burn twice that). Just wondering what the advantage is to increasing my exercise time. I'm just going to get hungrier and want to eat more, so isn't it counter productive to losing weight? I'm not saying no exercise, just why…

2-wk binge resulted in weight loss?!
I posted here last week about emotional eating. With the holidays underway, I've repeatedly gone over my weekly calorie budget by 700-1,500 calories. Last week it was cookies and cake. This week it was fried, greesy food at Mandarin, followed by cheesecake and pie at the all-you-can-eat dessert bar, and chocolate and…

This week it was fried greedy food at Mandarin, followed by all you can eat dessert bar, chocolate and cookies again later in the week.…

Overcoming emotional eating
Hi I have been doing pretty well over the past 3 months with MFP, and lost approx 6 lbs, but totally fell off the discipline wagon this month. I am unemployed and looking for a job, and the rejection letters are taking a toll on me. Last night i was crying unconsolably, and the only thing that calmed me down was binging on…

Victory! It was water weight after all
Just did my weekly weigh in and I have lost 2.2 pounds over last week. It was water weight after all. :) So relieved as I was a huge skeptic about the water explanation for my gain last week. I have been weighing my food and logging calories for nine weeks now and lost a total of four pounds, for an average loss of 0.5…

If it's all in the math, why did I gain?
I have been logging for almost two months and started seeing a steady weight loss of 0.5 lbs every week. Over the past two weeks due to my impending period, I had crazy cravings and overate a few times. On a good day, I keep my calories in the 1650-1780 range (with intense jogging for 30 minutes four times a week.) On the…

Lost my first 2 lbs in 4 weeks!
I love this app and being knowledgeable about my caloric intake. It's working! I was aiming for a half pound loss per week and have lost my first two pounds in a month. I am using a food scale, as everyone suggested, and reduced my calories to the 1,650-1,760 range. It obviously did the trick!

Some weights better than none at all?
Are some weights better than no weights at all? I am trying to jog intensely 4 times a week while following an 1,650-1750 calorie a day diet most days. I am 5'6 and want to lose 25 pounds. Truth be told, I find weight lifting so boring and after my run, I am so tired that I don't really want to spend another half hour in…

Ever wake up at night and head for the fridge?
Just wondering how others handle the mid-sleep urge to eat and whether that negatively affects your weight loss efforts. It happened to me last night, and as a result, I went over my calorie goals for yesterday. :(

When did you see your first 5lbs loss?
How soon after you started your program?

Fluid oz vs ounce?
I see fluid oz. in the app a lot. Is that what I would select to weigh oats?

What about fat grams?
If you're controlling your daily caloric intake and generally eating healthy foods, should you be worried about fat grams? For example, does it matter if you get 100g of fat one day through oily fish and nuts if you still stick to your overall daily caloric allowance? Will it hinder weight loss to consume so much fat?

How to know how many calories burned?
I am not working right now and can't afford a heart monitor. How can I know how many calories my workouts are burning? Here are my stats: Female, 39 yrs old, 180 lbs Jogging 5.2 mph, 30 minutes Walking 3.8 mph, 45 minutes Nancy

I've had an epiphany. Thank you!
Thanks to all of your comments, I took a long, hard look at my routine and compared it to when I was 10 years younger and lost 30 lbs through exercise and Weight Watchers. You are right - I am eating too many calories. When I was on the old WW system (with the booklet), I was supposed to have only 29 points per day, with…

Wasted time/gained weight??
I have been using the app for three weeks and I've gained five pounds. I am eating about 2,000 calories per day on days I jog for 30 minutes and about 1,800 calories on days I am sedentary. I am 38, 5'6, large boned, and jog intensely four times a week. I've been doing this for two months (longer than I've had the app). I…
