Damn Scales
One of those days when the scales are not only lying, they are kicking me in the teeth. Have had a really good week of logging food and working out daily. I have scales that do the body fat etc. It says my body fat is down a bit, muscle percentage is up plenty but weight is 2 pounds up. I thought I would be down around 3…

Broccoli
Am planning on changing my diet to eat more broccoli. Since it is mentioned everywhere as a great low carb vegetable. So how come there are 7gms of carbs per 100 gms of broccoli. If I ate a whole bunch with some protein, wouldn't this put me over the daily limit?

No cardio for a few weeks
My regime of 4 workouts per week has hit a wall. I have strained my Hamstring and been told it is at least 2 weeks rest, probably more. I am already going stir crazy. I will focus more on being good with my food, but I still want to explore what exercise is possible. Push ups and sit ups should be fine. But I was wondering…

Protein Bar that I can eat?
Not sure about these, can I really believe the carb to fibre ratio? If I could these would be great for snacks or after work outs. https://postedprotein.co.uk/collections/nutramino/products/nutramino-raspberry-chocolate-lean-protein-bar-60g#tabs-3

Water weight
I need to learn more about this. Scales were their usual insane self. Friday I was up 4 pounds. Saturday morning up 1 pound. 2 hours later after boxing I am down 2 pounds? I can only think these are water differences? Yes I am measuring and the inches are going down steadily ☺️

In a good space
Scales were cruel again on the weekend. Said I had achieved 0 for a week involving 4 work outs and 2 days of If. But the thing is that having read so many posts here I am ok with it. Previously I would have agonised over everything I had eaten or if my workouts were hard enough. Instead I looked at the inch I lost off my…

Pounds back on
I know there are no stupid questions but this one may be close :) . I read that you need to burn about 3000 calories to lose a pound of fat. My question is does the reverse hold true? Would I need to screw up by 3000 calories to put a pound back on? Just one of those days when the scales are being nasty and I know I kept…

Cold Breakfast
Hi, I apologise if I am being lazy, because there are many postings here about food, so maybe I should have searched more. One of the things that I am missing is my breakfast cereal, whether oats or museli. All of my online searches for substitutes are coming back high in carbs. So I wondered what others here ate when not…

Are Work Do's worth it
I used to enjoy the work do's. Have a few drinks, chat and vent a bit. Tried this last night with no alcohol and trying to keep to this woe. My conclusion is the alcohol used to disguise how bad the food was, seriously don't think they make many salads. And once you eliminate the carb heavy foods you have about 2 items to…

Do you hate the labels
Spent 5 minutes in the supermarket last night reading the labels of soup cans and being depressed by how many carbs were in them. I ended up walking out with one I didn't want and cursing the food industry. Had the same problem then when buying some yoghurt. Some of the carb levels are ridiculous. Do you just toughen up,…

Are muscle gain and fat loss at the same time impossible
I am the stage where I now question everything. So in a supplement store last week I was told that I needed to eat more carbs to fuel a strength session and gain muscle. I explained that I was on LCHF and did not want more carbs. I was told that I couldn't lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, which I had also read…

Salt/Sodium
This is one that I have kept reading about in the threads but am resisting. I have spent so many years cutting salt out of my diet that it feels like I have given in if I now change. What really surprised me this morning was the comment that low Sodium would result in water retention when everything we were told is the…

Tinkering
This may just be a guy thing. My progress has been good. I have nothing to complain about. And yet I am continually looking at every aspect of my program to see if I can make improvements? Do other people do this?

Drinks
I have seen a few posts about snacks, but what do you drink, especially at night. Most of what I like is now on the bad list. Even my tomato juice has had sugar added. Currently surviving on sparkling water but it does get boring.

Fruit
I saw on one post about how fruit was out on the Keto diet. I can understand that with the high natural sugar ones. But I worry about not getting enough vitamin C. Surely ones like grape fruit are OK? And I have been drinking either tomato or light cranberry juice. I am aware of all the added sugar in the other varieties.

Too worried when I can't get low carb
Another newbie issue. :-). I travel a lot with work, usually 3 nights a week in different hotels. And it means I have to work hard to find choices that are low carb. So next week for lunch my only choice may be something not on my diet or a packet slimming soup. I am trying to minimise those because last week I didn't lose…

Great plans wrong Country
Some of the postings yesterday gave me the idea of having lettuce wraps for dinner. Basically sandwiches where lettuce substitutes for bread. I first had these in the US. So did my gym session and was happy with my efforts. Then stop at supermarket on the way back to the hotel. BUT we are in the middle of the Spanish…

Greetings
I am back again to hit my weight and fitness goals. I was doing really well last year until a bad injury in the gym set me back and I fell off the wagon. Annoyed at myself but have been strong this month. This year the goal is to marry my partner, so have everything to play for :-)

Newbie question re fat
Hi, I am back on the diet. Fell off after a gym injury last year. I find my body has adapted very quickly this time to low carb. But mentally I am struggling with the fat. I have changed to full fat milk but even that "seems" risky. I have been listening to the low fat message for so long it is really difficult to change…

Supermarket Frustration
Just had a walk around a small Sainsbury supermarket. I am on low carb and wanted something snackish for the train home. Walked up and down the aisles reading sugar and carb levels. Ended up walking out with nothing. Not good for the morale

Low Carb choices
Hi I have been back on my low carb diet for a month and it hasn't been too bad. But I spend a lot of time in hotels and my choices are limited. Just wondering what other low carbers are eating. Much of my diet is eggs, chicken, fish and vegetables.
