How do I convince my brain to lose weight?
I know that I need to lose weight. I know how to lose weight. But for some reason my brain just doesn't get it. I seem to be constantly thinking about what I can eat and how I can go out and buy junk food. I feel terrible eating it and tell myself it needs to stop, but then the next day I'm the same. I saw myself on the…

Daily exercise
I was wondering what people were doing for exercise. Mine has been mostly dog walking but he has a limp so that's cut down to a 30 minute slow plod. Tomorrow my wife is going to walk the dog and I'm going to start the couch 2 5k programme. I did it some years ago a d it was very effective. I am not a runner but I loved the…

Nutrition and diet
I though we could have a thread about nutrition and diet. Mine has been pretty shocking recently. My wife signed up to "hello fresh" some months ago. Basically a box of ingredients and recipes turns up and you just cook it. It takes the stress out of working out what to cook when we're both busy working, and it's been…

July 2020 Group
Is there anyone who has started in July 2020? I started last week so today was week 2 day 1 for me. So far, so good, although I have quite a bit of pain in my left shin during the walking sections. I'm guessing it's to be expected when you're lugging 280lbs about.

A good podcast to listen to, or a health related photo/post now and then would help I think. What do you listen to and who do you follow for…

c25k - newbie runners
I've just started the Couch 2 5 K programme and wondered if there were others who had recently started / thinking of starting who wanted to be friends and help motivate each other. (I can't think of a way of making this sound less needy)

Motivational reads?
Can anyone recommend motivational books? I like to read books about people who took on challenges and had to train. I read an interesting book called "the hour" all about the cycling 1 hour record. Any recommendations?

Training for a challenge?
I'd like to build a friendship community of people who are training for something. Each year I seem to agree to some sort of challenge, which helps me keep a focus on my health. Last year I didn't do it and I'm about 10kg heavier, so this year I've signed up to a 10 mile run - the Great South Run in the UK. In the past…

Beginner runners? Please add me
I've just started C25K and am looking for people who are similarly just starting out on their running careers. I'd love to have someone go through this with me, someone to share the pain and the rewards. Many thanks, Steve
