Why are the calories burned on MFP so off??
I weigh 194 and am 5 foot. 45 year old female. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and MFP says I burned 400. Not possible. Does anyone see the MFP is way off when estimating calories burned?

Has anyone decided to just eat to only only lose a half a pound a week? I’m not referring to people that have the last 10 or 15 pounds to go. Can someone tell me if it really works. I’m tired of stressing over dieting. I just need a little more calories.

I have to pretty much be perfect for 7 days to lose weight. But my problem is let’s say I’m perfect for 5 days and then on the 6 day something unexpected like a higher calorie meal will ruin my entire weeks weight lose. What a difference 200 calories makes!!
So today was my first day at the gym in a very long time. I just did 30 of elliptical at moderate intensity. MFP says I burned 383 calories. I do not believe that. I assume I burn around 200 calories. So I gave myself 200 extra. I was at 1300. I feel so much more satisfied!! But I was definitely more hungrier

I read the internet and MFP and it says I burn 388 calories for 30 minutes of elliptical machine. Fit bit says I only burn 186 calories in 30 minutes. Which is accurate. I research the internet and it says 388 too. I’m 5 foot 190 pounds.

I can’t believe I did not know this!!!
So I just realized that the nutrition info on meat packages are for raw meat. My beef is 170 for 4 ounces of RAW mean which means I only get to eat 3 ounces of cooked meat for 170 calories. Ugh

Do you carry water weight the day you are supposed to weigh in for the week? This gets me so frustrated as seeing a loss after 7 days is what keeps me motivated. How do you all handle this? Do u just weigh after a few more days?
