Calorie calculation on MFP
Can anyone tell me if the calorie calculations for various excercises on MFP are net or gross. In other words, do they deduct your resting metabolic rate or not? Thanks Phil

MFP v. HRM
Hi all, recently bought a HRM and entered all my details. It calculates that a 2hr walk at 3.5 mph approx, burned 230 cals. MFP reckons it's over 700. What gives? Thanks Phil

Exploitative nonsense
Last night I watched The Biggest Loser - USA. It was my first time to watch this programme, but it's January and we all need a bit of motivation. I was actually shocked by the naked exploitation of the people who were desperate to lose weight. The were publicly weighed, wearing very little to expose the flab and then made…

Okay. What the f**k is going on?
For the last few weeks the scales haven't moved. That's okay I'm not worried. But my waist is shrinking. I have put two new holes in my belt. I know from all my friends on MFP that:- 1. Should I do a heavy carb load the day before for instance? Any other advise from experienced walkers would be appreciated. It is a very…

Does doing Yoga make me a big cissy?
Starting Yoga next week as I feel I need extra flexibility. I find I'm getting a lot of muscle pain after running. Questions. Is it likely to help the problem? Has anyone noticed if it helps their weight loss and most importantly does it mean I'm a big cissy?

Diet Chef?

Greetings from the soggy Emerald Isle
Hi all, Just joined this week and things are going well. I like the fact that there is no set diet plan and that you create your own menu and then see how many calories you're consuming. Great idea, simple but effective because there are no banned foods. Have tried and failed with ridiculous quick-fix diets before, but I…
