gym membership prices
I noticed today that the annual membership has gone up at my gym by £150 pound. This makes it just short of £500 a year which is very expensive for the state of the gym. Is anyone here a member of one of the following - fitness first, david lloyd or virgin active? How much are your memberships and do you think its worth…

Emailed by trainer
I am a member of a fairly big gym in the UK. I recently received an email that I thought I would share with everyone. For legal reasons I will not name the gym or the trainer which sent it to me. FOOD is more powerful than any prescription weight loss pills, because the FOOD that you eat can either make you THIN or FAT.…

tv programs
Hello I am running out of ideas for things to watch. I wonder if any of the members of MFP can give me some ideas or suggestions. I currently really like Gossip Girl and the Vampire Diaries to give you an idea of the kinds of programs I like. XX

strength training
ever since i started strength/resistance training 3 weeks ago i appear to keep gaining and losing the same 3 lbs. I had previously reached my goal of 110 but now it shoots up and down between 113 and 110. it only goes back down after a complete day or twos rest from exercise. I understand that muscles retain water to help…

Hello everyone. I have got down to my goal weight but then got a new job and now my priorities have changed. I am joining a gym on…

Sorry I just wanted to share my good news: Been on holiday for two weeks and I just got home and weighed myself - only a 1 pound gain. So so so happy and I ate and drank what I liked on holiday so im beyond chuffed that I dont have to start killing myself in the gym to get rid of the extra weight! Last time I went away I…

reached goal
Today I reached my goal so I changed my settings to maintain my current weight. The thing is I am so used to eating 1200 calories that I have no idea how I am going to eat an extra 500 a day without resorting to reaching for wine and mars bars! How can I increase my daily intake with 'good' calories?

To join a gym or not.. that is the question
Previously I have been happy to use my Wii active at home but I am becomming a bit bored of it and wondering whether I should join a gym or not. Anyone on here a member of total fitness gyms? Are they worth the 37 pound a month fee? Its either that or join the local council run gym and I dont really fancy that!

Hi Whenever I eat the suggested number of calories by MFP I gain weight, it's only a few pounds but I confused as to why. Anyone else got this problem? edit: sorry I have just realised this post has been put in the wrong section of the…
