I am a member of a fairly big gym in the UK. I recently received an email that I thought I would share with everyone. For legal reasons I will not name the gym or the trainer which sent it to me.



FOOD is more powerful than any prescription weight loss pills, because the FOOD that you eat can either make you THIN or FAT.   You get fat because you don't eat the right foods at the right intervals each day.




The reason you cannot lose weight by starving yourself (using a low calorie diet) is because your metabolism will detect any major drop in calories and it will then ADJUST ITSELF by burning fewer calories each day.

 
For example:
If you begin eating 2,500 calories per day then your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning 2,500 calories per day. 

If you try to starve yourself by suddenly eating 1,000 calories per day then your metabolism will again ADJUST ITSELF so that your body begins to burn only 1,000 calories per day.  That's why you have failed in your past dieting attempts, that's why you always seem to fail when you try and starve yourself.

 


Monitoring fat content in the food is an effective way to reduce your body fat. However most low fat food options have the fat replaced with sugar which adds calories.





Low carb diets have certainly become popular in recent years, but such diets often leave you feeling miserable each day (since they drain most of your energy and can leave you feeling quite awful each day). 

Some of the basic fat loss tips are as given below:
- People are under the impression that all fat is unhealthy. Actually, saturated fats are harmful for your body. Saturated fats can increase the level of cholesterol in the blood and are found in things like butter, cheese and chocolate.
- Read food labels to check if the food item contains refined sugar.
-Reading food labels can help you get a clear idea about the nutrition facts.
- Weight training can be useful for burning extra calories. During the workout your body burns fat and enables you to shed off those extra pounds.
- Water is essential. This helps you remain hydrated and improves your rate of metabolism. Drinking water can help eliminate harmful toxins.
- Do not drink alcohol. You cannot lose weight if you consume alcohol.
- Consume fresh foods. Reduce your intake of processed foods and stick to wholesome foods, fresh vegetables, fruits, lean protein and whole grains
- Do not skip breakfast.
- Consume high protein to improve your rate of metabolism.
- Consume green leafy vegetables that are high in fibre.
These simple fat loss tips can be useful in the long run. Choose your diet carefully and add new meaning to your life.

    what do you think to the your metabolism gets used to the amount your eating/burning etc? Im not sure this is strictly true particularly if your exercising frequently

    From your ticker and your profile pictures, it certainly doesn't seem that you've "failed in your past dieting attempts."

    Some of the tips are sound, but as a whole, this guys an idiot.

    I happen to know you CAN lose weight and consume alcohol. You just have to take it in to consideration when calculating your cals.

    Overall the tips are a good way to get healthy but I have to say, he seems a little pompous and your body won't adjust to what ever level you eat. A 5' 0" tall woman will not suddenly start burning 2500 calories because she is eating that much. If that was true, no one would be fat.

    I just find it funny I got emailed about losing weight at the gym. I made it clear when I joined that my goal there was not to lose any weight. I have no more to lose!

    Oh, I forgot about the calorie part. I think thats crap. But the tips at the bottom are sound. If I drink now, it takes considerably less than it used to get me drunk.
