Rant: You look just like her!
I was at the hair salon today and waiting for my stylist to come back. This older woman sitting next to me grabbed a magazine with Adele on the cover and showed it to her stylist and exclaimed, "You look JUST like her!" The stylist, blond curls, heavy-set, just shrugged her off. I think Adele is beautiful. I think people…

Race log?
Does anyone have an excel race log where they track the race, date, location, finish time, etc? There are lots of upcoming races and I am getting confused as to which I am doing but also want to track what I have done. Thanks in advance.

Running App (iphone)
I started running with Couch to 5k and just completed Active.com's 5k to 10k app. I really am motivated with someone telling me run for x long etc, with daily and weekly completion goals. I am running 5k and 10k races now and my half marathon time is now under 3 hours. What is a good next app to do or should I redo 5k to…

Half Marathon Tips
I am a fairly new runner. I walked the Music City Half Marathon in late April and that started the bug. I completed the Couch to 5k this summer and now am on the 5k to 10k (week 6) program. I regularly run 5k's at about a 12 minute pace (about 2 a month all summer). I run 5-6 times per week, around 2.5-5 miles depending on…

20 lbs by Oct 1
Who would like to be part of a challenge starting tomorrow? Part of the success I have had on MFP is not only being accountable to myself, but having people going through similar experiences to support me. And a little challenge and competition here and there is fun too! Whether you weigh daily, weekly, or monthly, having…

Books: Running/Weight Loss but FICTION?
So I love my Kindle for iPhone and read constantly. I am also doing audible for audiobooks during my runs. I love cheesy books/Chick Lit I can get lost in and not overthink. Yes, I have read 50 shades and similar ones too. I also read so much I love the Amazon singles for like $2.99 and have become a fan of Heather…

Knee High Boots
I have always said that regardless of my weight, I have fat calves. It will be interesting now that I am actively changing my body what will happen to them. They are decreasing in size, if slowly. Since college (even before they were in style) I wanted knee high boots. We always want what we cannot have. So we are talking…

Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Avocado
Made this last night and it was supper yummy. Did not have any interesting bread so used Ezekiel instead. Calculated one serving (2 slices of bread with 4 oz of grilled chicken split between them) was 550 cals. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/07/grilled-chicken-sandwich-with-avocado.html Grilled Chicken Sandwich with…

Possible Gluten Allergy?
I went to the nutritionist for the first time yesterday. Had never met her before. I scheduled the meeting not because I wanted weight loss help (MFP has me on track) but because I was worried the things I was eating was not doing well for my digestion, and to see if there were improvements I could make. Warning, TMI. I…

What's your Magic Number?
Today, someone on my Friends List hit 340 days logged in. Wow. I am currently at 140. But, interested what some of the all time highs are for days logged in that you have or have seen?

Swimming Etiquette
My husband and I took our two little ones to the outdoor pool yesterday at the Y. Pool is the wrong term, it is like a crazy, Willy Wonka water wonderland. Buckets dumping water on you from everywhere, fountains, water slides, etc. There is also an outdoor Olympic pool where half is play/big water slide area and 4 lanes…

NSV: Doctor's Office
Bad news...I have a sinus infection. Awesome news...the dr's office was floored by how much weight I lost! When we got to scale, I was thinking, ok, moment of truth...let's see if they start at the 200s or the 100s. I was super bummed to see her roll the weight on up to the 200's. Boo!! But she quickly readjusted and got…

What I eat is not YOUR business
Today I hit the 50 pound mark. 50.2 lbs to be exact. I travel a lot for work lately. I try to make good, healthy decisions on the road and always log BEFORE I eat. It is hard. I submit expense reports for all of my meals with receipts. Restaurant receipts show total price while Panera and Chick Fil A (the only fast food I…

What are you doing?
I get this question a lot after people see the weight loss. And I am at a loss to tell them honestly. I have done Atkins, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, all with varying levels of success, and all to weight gain after. Here's the deal. I am not "doing" anything really except logging my food and staying within my calories. I…

Telling people pounds lost
So I am at almost 40 lbs lost and when I am with friends, some skinny, some not, they ask or I offer how much I have lost. Last night, I got a little embarrassed because while I have made huge success, I still have a ways to go and I feel like people are doing the math and thinking, "You weighed how much???" I hid my…

New Scale..which one to use
Our old scale was hobbling, literally...it had only 3 legs so you had to precariously balance yourself to get a good reading. 70+days into this, I found a new scale and it arrived yesterday. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004L6NTHU/ref=oh_o00_s00_i01_details I am so far very impressed with it EXCEPT...I weighed 3 pounds…

Nobody has noticed
So I am down 16+ pounds in less than 2 months. I know it has not been that long or that much weight, but I feel drastically different. Better outlook, wearing nicer clothes, happier. Even my hair looks better. Meanwhile, not one person has said a word. Coworkers, friends, nothing. In the past, I have lost less weight and…
