Anybody taking Pristiq for menopouse symptoms?
Went to my GP for an annual visit yesterday, and mentioned to him that the inability to concentrate and the mood swings and weight gain (if I slip up and gain a pound it sticks and nothing I do can get it off) is driving me nuts. He gave me a course of Pristiq, an antidepressant that is now being tried out for all the…

Spartan Sprint - training?
I got myself registered for a Spartan Sprint in June - not sure if my training plan would work... I have been slacking a bit on both the eating and training side, since early December - did lots of weights and P90X before that - so not in the shape I would like to be...Please let me know what you think about this? Just…

DXA scan - worth the money?
I am at my wits end with the annoying variety of "body fat persentage" scales, calculators, measurements out there - none of it gives me something even close to an average....I'm perimenopausal, so the scale is utterly unreliable.... Is the DXA scan really as accurate as people say it is?

DO NOT do Chalene Xtreme, Push Circuit
exactly 35 minutes after inhaling half a spinach and feta & garlic thin crust pizza!  :blushing: Not a good idea...just thought I'll mention it in case there are more idiots than just me on earth.... Did not have time to eat all my snacks & lunch, got home starved and decided to eat dinner and then…

Chalene Extreme?
I've been lifting heavy (dumbells at home only) for a while now and love it - and am a runner who LOVES running, but am getting a little bored with my workouts and am looking for something new that includes both weights and cardio for when winter decide to show its ugly head again.... Considered getting this - can anybody…

Question??
I have been upping my calories from 1600 to 2000 for the last 3+ weeks....No change up or down.... Exercise stayed the same - more or less 3000 cals per week - cardio and lifting 3 times a week each, sometimes running a forth time too... According to fat2fitradio, the TDEE for my goal weight (160lbs, I am now 176 and had…

Body Fat testing - which method is the best?
Other than the water submersion thing of course...The scale at the gym (think it's tanita) puts me at 28%, the online measurement calculators put me anywhere between 24 and 29, and I just got a pair of acu-measure calipers that repeatedly comes down to 24.5%... I have no idea which one is right......

Fed up with plateu and going to eat even more....
OK....so I have been losing 6 lbs on 1400cals - then started playing with the same two lbs up and down for three months...Upped my cals to 1600 plus exercise cals, and lost two lbs and stayed there constantly for the last month... I started lifting about 7 weeks ago together with running, (which I have been doing forever)…

Why has cardio become a swear word on MFP all of a sudden?
I can't help to notice that cardio has been getting a seriously bad rep lately.... I get the idea that strengh/resistance whatever you want to call it is a vital part of losing weight and staying healthy, but there are more and more threads where people get told that 2 days of cardio per week is too much???? What about the…

Is this good? Calling all experts on fat loss/muscle gain...
I just found an old gym record of my body composition stats that I had done at the gym when I started my weight loss journey five years ago, and I am slightly impressed by it - but I might be just overly glad that I am not there anymore... I'm 5'8 and almost 44 - started out at 227lbs, body fat percentage of 49.4, fat mass…
