Working in fast food + dieting
Not really looking for advice, just tips on what any of you who work fast food/restaurants/cafes/etc do to keep yourself on track. I work at Subway, which isn't too bad in itself because I don't LOVE sandwiches... but every day they leave the day old cookies out for staff to munch on... and I find I'll eat 3-6 throughout…

Good lifting programs?
I know that there are lots of books and information out there like new rules to lifting, stronglifts, etc etc... but I am looking for a good lifting program. Ideally 30-45min per day- not opposed to paying a small price for a good program either. My gym does not offer personal training. I have started the strong lifts…

Net carbs ...
Do you count your total carbs as just that ... total carbs ... or do you subtract your carbs from fibre to get your total? I aim for under 50g of carbs per day, but someone told me that I can take out the carbs from fibre . For example, today so far, I have 39 carbs, but 13 of those are fibre. Do you count your carbs at 39…

Decisions, decisions...
This may be lengthy. At the beginning of July, I purchased a new horse, a 2008 mare who was a little on the small side (max. 15.3), snotty, ill mannered, and to be quite honest, a little ill-tempered. I had her in for a tune up and sell for her owner, who adored her but ran a western facility and had no use for this very…

From an over eater to a bulimic to where I am today.
I'm 20 years old, and started this journey as a 5'7" female weighing in at 305 lb at the beginning of January. I was a compulsive over eater, then a bulimic. Two years ago, I was 280 pounds and lost over a hundred pounds by starving myself- but I was miserable and depressed and it wasn't sustainable, which is how I got…

Back pain- who do you go to?
I have always had slight back pain, and always attributed it to the fact that I was so overweight. When I was sixteen, I fractured two disks in my spine (c6&c7, slight twist on the c5)... but it is my lower back only that causes a lot of pain. I have been lifting for a few weeks and do NOT think that is the cause of the…

Progress pictures... starting to see a difference!
So, I am still a long way from my goal, but I am starting to see some progress. My weight is going down slowly but steadily. I have loose skin already. I am weight training, doing cardio, and eating healthy (1800 calories per day). I am thankful to all my MFP friends who have been so supportive so far in my journey!!! Here…

Setting your calorie goals...
I'm a little confused .. I work at subway approx 5 days per week 5-8 hours per day. I do lots of moving and walking and lifting (5-20lb, so not heavy but lifting things regardless). Is this lightly active? I had my goal set as sedentary because I don't work weekends and I usually work around 6.5 hours per day, so I don't…

Upped my calories and now I'm starving
So, I upped my calories from about 1400 to the 1800 range. I eat a lot of proteins, healthy fats, veggies, etc. I eat relatively healthy throughout the day (I can make my diary open to public if needed) and usually right on point or slightly over my macros on everything except carbs/sodium/sugar .... so slightly over on…

Issues with my HRM (sportline model)
I looked through a lot of other topics about HRM watches but most of the issues were that the user did not have a chest strap... I have a chest strap and my heart rate calculation works perfectly fine ... my issue is that I'm apparently to stupid to figure out the other settings on the watch. I have a sportline (xs I…

Yo-Yo dieter, needing friends to keep me accountable!
Hey everyone, my name is Chelsea and I'm a yo-yo dieter. Okay, but really. I have been everywhere from 155lb to 305lb and everywhere in between at least once. Right now I am sitting at around 297, one of the highest weights I have EVER been my entire life. About me: I am 5'6 and 20 years old, but I would be happy with…
