Activity Trackers?
Hi All, I'm interested in investing in an activity tracker of some description. I like the look of the Fitbit Flex and the Basis Band, in fact I would probably go for the Basis Band over the Fitbit because it monitors heart rate also. However the Basis Band is not yet available in the UK. Are they worth the money? Do you…

After lunch lethargy, why?
Ok so today I switched from my usual lunch of fresh fruits, yoghurt and museli to a can of tuna, some light mayo and wholemeal bread. About an hour after having eaten it I have been hit by the most extreme lethargy. I know that this goes against what I mostly read about eating protein to avoid the after lunch slump in…

My NSV - 6 Months of Sobriety
I'd been struggling with alcoholism for many many years and after a series of not very pleasant alcohol related upsets, for example my OH leaving because he could no longer cope with my depression, weight gain and alcohol dependance, I decided to get help for my problem. I went through a home assisted NHS detox on the 06th…

My Sodium intake is too low.
I've been struggling all week wth fatigue, random cramps in my calves and minor headaches. Was having a look at the macros on here for the last week or two and my Sodium levels have been very very low some days and generally lower than the limit MFP gives for the day. When I say very very low I mean around 10% on other…

Spiralizer
I have a spiralizer and love making courgette noodles as a pasta replacement however I'm looking for ideas for other vegetables that could be used in the same way. I blanch my courgettes prior to serving so that they are warm but still have a lot of bite. Can anyone recommend any? I'm planning to try carrot already but…

Coconut Water

Are there many here that subscribe to those health benefits and drink it regulalry? If you do have you noticed a difference in how you feel? I bought 12 x 330ml…

Constipation?
I have been gradually increasing the amount of fibre in my diet but just recently find I'm a little bunged up. I drink plenty and the foods I eat are mostly fruits and veggies so are full of water. The amount of fibre I am eating is not excessive in any way, maybe 18g a day at the moment, sometimes more. Any tips on what…

Iron Levels?!
I'm a little confused by iron levels in the food diary, it sets a level of 100 but what does that 100 mean? Grams, % of GDA, or what? I can't figure out how to change the level either. I'm being tested for anemia so am looking more closesly to my iron intake, or would like to anyway. TIA.

Can anyone recommend a weight training DVD that covers all areas of the body and is suitable for use at home with next to no equipment? I don't have access to a gym and having lost some of my weight I'd like to start toning up a little. TIA.

Body Toning
Ok so I started my weight loss journey early November 2011, so far I have lost 24 lbs with a similar number to go to get to my initial weight loss goal. I am finding that I am seeing quite a bit of loose skin on my stomach and upper arms. My exercise consists of a daily 1 hour walk with the dogs at a fairly fast pace. What…

Sodium - Do we need it in our diet?
Ok I mostly cook from scratch and never add salt to my diet, I really notice the salt when I buy something ready prepared as my thirst goes through the roof. So my question is does the body actually need salt?

Hi!
I've been mostly lurking on here but filling in my food planner religiously. I am a recovering alcoholic who gained a massive four stone in four short years, I've recently won my battle with booze and am back to living a healthy lifestyle and losing the weight I gained during that period. I have managed to shed 21 lbs in…

Just saw an ad for this company on TV so checked out their website. Looks like a great idea but there is little info given on calories. Has anyone tried it and if they have what did they think?
