Calories to eat...
Can someone have a look at my food diary? These are all my meals and snacks and pre/post-workout food for today. I'm netting 1142, so I should still find another approximately 500 calories to squeeze in there somehow to make sure I get up to my 1671 BMR in the NET category? Is that right? Sorry if this seems a repeat…

Can someone tell me if I have this right?
Hi all, Apologies in advance if this is long! I've just ordered the New Rules for Lifting for Women and I'm excited to start on the program, along with the EM2WL philosophy. I've been plateaued for YEARS and I'm hoping this will help, in the past, I've lost and gained the same 5 pounds so often, I can't keep track! So,…

still confused...BMR vs. cut vaues
hiya, I am still confused about how much to eat. I understand I need to always eat above my BMR and that I should be eating as near to my cut value as I can every day. BUT, what I get confused about is on days I exercise and I have to look at the NET value of calories. If my net is above my BMR (for me that's 1655 cals),…

Why no weight loss?
Hi all, I'm writing because I am so frustrated! I've always had a hard time losing weight, and I've done almost all of the diet tricks (Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, LA Weight Loss, GI diet etc etc), until I finally decided that I would do it the old fashioned way...exercise and eat well. I write down everything I eat and…

Cardio & Lifting on same days?
I'm finding that I am not having enough days in the week to get all the lifitng and cardio in that I want AND incorporate some rest days. I am training for a 5K obstacle race, so I can't let go of the 3 days per week that I am running. I do a kickboxing class once a week (which I can't decide is supposed to be a cardio…

I think I'm doing it wrong...
ok, so my cut value is 2194, my BMR is 1665. When I first started this, someone so very kindly explained how to get to these numbers and that I should only eat back my exercise calories if I went below my BMR on the NET side. For whatever reason, I think this advice just flew right out of my head and I've been trying to…

Is this normal?
hi all, I'm fairly new to this way of eating (only about 3 weeks) and I've read on here that you can expect some weight gain when first starting. The first 2 weeks, I dropped, not a lot, but it was a drop, which was nice to see because I'd been losing and gaining the same 2 pounds for 5 years! then this week I weighed…

Sore hips
Hi all, I just did week 3 day 2 today and even though I thought I would have a tough time with 3 minutes running, it's been alright. EXCEPT for the extreme tightness in my hips when I am done. Yes, I do the warm up and cool down...no I'm not running especially fast (approx 9 min kilometre), yes, I stretch after, and my…

Question on manually changing MFP goals
hi there, newbie here to eating more...I'm manually changing my MFP calorie and macros goals, but I'm unsure if I should change it to my TDEE amount (2194) or to my BMR amount (1665)? I understand now (thanks to the wonderful people on this site), that I should eat at least 2194 cals (this includes my 15% cut) every day,…

Website technical question
Is there somewhere on the MFP website I can go to manually adjust my calories and the ratio for fat/protein/carbs to match my numbers for BMR and/or TDEE? I tried to look under settings and couldn't find anything. thanks

STILL confused....
I just joined this group and have just started trying to eat this way, but I am so confused. I just read the very well written explanation of what the BMR/TDEE calcs are for and how to use them, but I am still not getting it. I've tried to lose weight for years, have done so much research on it on the best way to do it and…
