Calories burned/Donating Blood?
I gave blood today and was told you burn 650 calories giving blood... Although I think "lose" is a better term than "burn" in this case. Just wondering if this is true, how it works, if I should log it, and if I should eat those calories back.

This time,
I'm going to stick with it and fight harder and beat my ED, and I'm posting it in public so I have witnesses. I'm not gonna be a slave to this any longer. :)

I'm back...
Decided to come back to MFP for ED control. This is my fourth day here. So, ah, hi to all those who remember me, and hi to everyone else. :)

ED Facility?
Hey, So the doctors want me to take this quarter off school and check into a facility. Not sure if it's a financial possibility, but we'll find out soon. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with one. -What was your attitude going in? (Did you want to get better or were you pretty much made to go?) -What was the…

I need to talk to a recovered bulimic.
I just do. Please message me if you are one, I need advice.

Is there a bulimia group?

Why aren't I fat?
This is a serious question and something I've wondered my entire life. First of all, before I ever started MFP my diet was atrocious. Tons of junk food and carbs all day long without really stopping or thinking about what I ate at all. Plus my family dines out a LOT, and when we do I usually get something extremely high in…

Honey: Orange Blossom vs. Clover
Is there a difference, nutrition-wise?

I already posted this on my profile but I seriously need hel
I need to have a healthy relationship with food. It's a dangerous obsession for me. My whole life is a yo-yo between hardcore dieting and extreme binging where I eat until I hurt and undo all my progress. I hate myself for it. Maybe the diet thing isn't for me right now. I just want to be able to eat like a normal person…

Rate my ab routine
Hi all! Well I've always wanted a flat, toned stomach but due to a hip and back problem I've never really been able to work out my abs because I can't do situps and most other ab workouts cause me a lot of pain. Recently though I developed a routine which I can do fairly well but since I'm new to this whole thing I don't…

Is there such thing as good and bad sodium?
I have a problem kind of opposite to most people. I don't get nearly enough sodium in my diet! I naturally have extremely low blood pressure and have even passed out on a few different occasions as a result. My doctors have recommended I up my sodium intake. I don't get enough sodium naturally, but I'm hesitant to eat more…

How many cals should I be eating?
Just wondering what my base calories for the day should be, before exercise cals. I'm 5'4" and currently at 130. I'd like to lose 10 pounds but am not in a rush to do that ASAP. More concerned with getting toned and fit. MFP says I should eat 1200 but some have told me that's not nearly enough and since I'm not overweight…

Indoor Skydiving
Does this burn calories? If so how many? I'm going tomorrow night. I've never done it so I have no idea if it's a workout or not, but all I know is that I used to play the Sims and it was a workout for them so I thought I'd ask, hahahahah

How much does it take to fill you up?
When I eat slowly and wait for my stomach to send my brain the message that it is full, I find that it really takes very little to fill me up. Even a small granola bar will do the trick. Is this a common thing? How much does it take for you?

It's 10 pm...
I've eaten 900 cals, and I'm NOT HUNGRY AT ALL. It's not that I've been spacing my food out too much or eating too low-cal. All day long I've had that full feeling. No idea why. Pretty much everything I've eaten I've had to force. So the obvious question is, should I keep eating? Yeah it's late at night, but that's not a…

Early Birds/Night Owls
Would like to know something. Well, our bodies burn more calories awake than asleep, right? So on those days where life forces us to get up early or stay up late for whatever reason (today I woke up at 4am to go to my dad's work with him) are we allowed to consume any extra cals? It would make sense to me... after all,…

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but...
I have seen a recurring thing among dieters/healthy eaters that recently is starting to bother me a little. Not just MFP but among pretty much anyone who is trying to lose weight. There seems to be a really prevalent opinion that, when we're dieting, our s/o's, family members, etc. need to support us 100% (which is great!)…

Crepes!
One of my favorite things about calorie counting is that it forces you to be creative and try things you might normally have if you weren't concerned with your diet. And sometimes it's amazing how delicious eating low-cal can be! I am obsessed with crepes, but they can be tricky to make, and I'm an extremely busy college…

Maintenance - HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE.
So even though I'm not quite at my goal weight yet I tried an experiment this weekend where I set my goals to maintenance. (To be safe, I changed my fitness level to sedentary, even though I'm more lightly active). I admit that I cheated a tad on Friday and Saturday (although I did dance all Saturday night, which I didn't…

A question for ladies only
Has anyone else found that weight loss interfered with their monthly schedule? I know that losing a rapid or dangerous amount of weight can throw everything off, but mine has completely disappeared and I find that really strange considering I've been losing two pounds a week or less. Thoughts? Is this worth a trip to the…

My Friends Think I Have an Eating Disorder
I came back from summer 15 pounds thinner, and I'm still losing. At first, my sorority sisters seemed thrilled for me, and that kept me really motivated. But today, a couple of my closest sisters told me that "a lot of the girls are really worried about you" and apparently there's talk that I have an eating disorder. I…

How far over your goal do you typically go on cheat days? What do you consider cheating? I'm just curious.

Climbing Gym
After a conversation with my hair stylist today, I'm toying with the idea of joining a rock climbing gym. Does anyone else have experience with these? Are they worth the money? Have you been able to stay motivated and keep going? Are you seeing results?

Thirsty all the time?
Before I started MFP I wasn't drinking near enough water a day... probably between 3-5 glasses. Now that I've been drinking from 8-12 I find that I'm always thirsty and often can't make it through a small snack - even a watery one like a piece of fruit, without one or two glasses. My mouth feels dry all the time and…

I don't know how to feel about this. Bad Habit?
I'm really good about sticking to my calorie limits. I do have one habit though, and I'm not sure whether it's that "bad" or not. Thoughts? Often, I'll go on a really long hike or bike ride and burn what I consider to be an insane amount of calories. (Today was an example of that, I burned about 1,000 on a six mile hike -…

Body Fat Calculators
I'm trying to get an estimate of my BFP, but entering the same information on a few different web sites has given my a range from 8% to 31% body fat. X[ I know that this way of determining my BFP isn't nearly as accurate as other methods, but with that in mind, can anyone recommend a site where I can get a semi-accurate…
