The Flexitarian Diet
Does anyone have this book? I really want it, I'm hoping we can do some kind of book swap or I can buy it off of you... Message me :]

What size weights?
I'm pretty new to the whole strength training deal but I really want to start lifting weights to tone my arms. What size should I start with? I can do 10 reps with a 10 lb dumbbell fairly easily and I'm thinking about starting with that for bicep curls but I've heard it's better to use smaller weights for other exercises…

Low-Cal Toppers for Baked Potatoes?

Proactiv
I know a couple of people had asked me to check back in with them and tell them if Proactiv worked for me. I've had bad acne for a couple of years now, and I've tried everything. Creams, pads, scrubs, sleeping with a towel over my pillow, you name it. NOTHING has been working. I've even got a couple of prescriptions, but…

I just started tracking cholesterol
Decided to track cholesterol instead of sugar (because I was sick of seeing those red numbers every day just because I eat a good amount of fruit) and was surprised to find I'm getting next to none in my diet. Is this good or bad?

Just wanted some feedback
Hi all, It's me again with another annoying question, haha. I have my activity level set to "Sedentary", although this isn't entirely true. I work part-time at a large retail chain which involves a lot of walking, bending, etc. 3-4 days a week. I also do a lot of shopping and going out etc on my days off, but I didn't want…

Ab Workouts? Seriously, I'm getting desperate here
My number one goal is to get a flat stomach but it's seeming more and more impossible... I have hip dysplasia which means that I can't even do many ab exercises and the ones I can cause me a great deal of pain in my back for days after. For example, I can't do sit-ups (never done a sit-up in my life) and crunches cause a…

Hobbies
I was just wondering what non-fitness related hobbies my fellow MFP-ers have. I've been wanting a hobby for a while now so today I gave candlemaking a try. It was really fun! My candle didn't turn out exactly the way I had planned but I love it! I'm already planning another trip to the craft store to get more fragrances…

Is there some web site or newsletter or something
to sign up for so I can know what half-marathon walks are coming up in my area?

How much water a day is too much?
And is there a whole lot of added benefit in drinking more than 8 glasses, or is 8 the magic number?

Restaurants w/o Nutrition Info
As much as I try to avoid restaurants without nutritional info available, sometimes it's inevitable. I'm about to go to this sushi restaurant: http://www.japanesetokyorestaurant.com and I'm thinking that the yakitori udon bowl with a side salad w/ ginger dressing wouldn't be too bad... But I'm wondering how to log it. What…

Can't find the calories for this?
I'm having trouble finding the calorie listing for a regular ice cream cone - just the cone itself, NOT the ice cream. I want to find the facts for the cones they have at Rite-Aid, which are two different types - they have the sugar cones and also the smaller, cake cones (the same type you might get at Dairy Queen or…

My Fitness Secret
Just got back from a trip to the grocery store... Gotta admit I smiled a little bit when the man in front of me (buying steaks and danishes) looked at my food on the conveyor belt and said "Now, that's just too healthy!" I got to thinking, and I realized that riding my bike to do my shopping is one of my best fitness…

Help! Baseball Game
Hey guys, I'm going to a baseball game tonight and since I doubt there's anything there I can eat I want to bring some food in. The catch is that I can only bring in food that is sealed in its original packaging. Does anyone have any ideas for a healthy, low-cal dinner that I can bring? I'd prefer no granola bars, I mean I…

I think I'm taking this too far :/
I've been making it my goal to consume 1200 calories daily, no more, no less. (I normally eat until my food diary says I'm somewhere around 1150 since I think I'm probably underestimating.) Today I've had breakfast and lunch so far and entered in the food I was planning on taking with me to work for dinner tonight. The…

Question About Logging Biking
I frequently go on bike rides but the are I live in is very hilly so most of my routes involve a lot of downhill. I just came back from a 50 minute ride but so much of it was downhill that I feel guilty logging that much - and it wasn't even round trip so I didn't make up for it on uphill. Should I log the whole ride or…

Question about P90X?
OK, I keep hearing all these amazing, inspiring success stories about P90X and I really want to try it out. But I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to do a lot of it because of my hip dysplasia. Is there a lot of focus on crunches and sit-ups? I can't do those. If not, what kind of exercises do you do for your…

A minor victory...but it's the small things that make a big
Today could have been a disaster. I wasn't feeling well and wanted to lie around the house doing nothing. I was also very emotional and upset for a lot of today and I'm an emotional eater - I crave chocolate and ice cream when I'm sad. If this had been a couple of weeks ago, I probably would have gone crazy with a candy…

Another dumb newbie question... Sorry
If my BMR is 1,385, why is MFP's daily calorie goal for me 1,200? Not that it bothers me, because I can eat 1,200 calories in a day and easily feel full, even overstuffed, but isn't that unhealthy? I'm a bit confused... Sorry in advance for the newbie question, I seem to be clogging the boards with a lot of these :/

Do I listen to my body or the numbers?
So, MFP says I shouldn't consume less than 1200 calories per day or risk starvation mode. But everyone always says to listen to your body and only snack when you're hungry, and honestly, I could easily consume less than 1000 calories in a day and feel full. As it stands now, I've eaten just over 1,000 calories today and…

Sodium / Low Blood Pressure
I have extremely low blood pressure - I black out frequently and on two occasions have fully passed out as a result of my BP. My health professor told me that I could eat a lot of sodium as a result. So, I don't really monitor my sodium intake, although I also don't go to extremes. Does this sound accurate? Is there…

Core Exercises with Hip Dysplasia?
Hi, I really want to tone my abs but due to being born with hip dysplasia I have a hard time. I can't do sit-ups at all and crunches cause me a lot of pain. Also can't go swimming for the time being because of a new piercing. Any suggestions for exercises to target my abs without stressing my hips or back?
