And is there a whole lot of added benefit in drinking more than 8 glasses, or is 8 the magic number?

I've found you definitely have to find your magic number.
For me, it's between 90 and 120 oz. per day. If I have a lot of sodium, it could be over 120, but not usually.
That includes the water I drink during and after workouts as well.0 -
I drink more if I'm thirsty. It keeps me from waking up dry in the middle of the night and helps with outside workouts in the intense Florida heat. I don't know about a direct correlation with weight loss, but if it helps exercise endurance, then it's a good thing!0
