Back in the saddle again
I know the value of MFP. It is a tool that has helped me lose tremendous amounts weight before. I am ashamed to even tell you about the silly reason that started my derailment. In the end, I really became quite arrogant that I had it all under control. Over confident, I lost focus, began justifying a pound here, a pound…

When did someone first notice?
Eventually someone will ask, “Did you lose weight?” For some, this is a cringe worthy moment. For others, it’s a validation. How much did you lose before someone took notice? “OMG! You look GREAT!” How long did you have to work at it to get that first “WOW!” moment?

You WILL FAIL with MFP, like every other diet...
Until you realize that MFP is not a diet. MFP is a tool to take charge of your life. MFP is not a magical answer to fix your weight problem. MFP is simply a way to measure what you put in your mouth and the movement you do to negate that. It's a pretty simple formula, eat less than you burn. If you don't want to exercise,…

94 days on MFP=54lbs gone. Face Pic.
This is my very first post. I have been lurking on these forums since I started using MFP. I didn’t want to post until I reached at least 90 days. I felt it important for me to put some mileage behind me in order to get a bit of perspective of my commitment to winning this battle to get fit. I am a 45 year old and have…

NEED HELP & INSPIRATION?
I have never denied a friend request. I'm NOT a dietitian, or a doctor, Or even a fitness coach, I don't have any connection to the fitness or healthcare community, and I certainly don't peddle any fitness products. I am just like you. With a starting BMI of 49.9%, my road is likely longer than most, but I know there are…

Struggling Friends
In MFP Land I have never denied a friend. I have never de-friended someone. But I have a few friends who struggle- some constantly struggle. I absolutely understand, I have my own struggles, obstacles, barriers, and denials that i deal with on a daily basis. However there is a difference between struggling and lack of…

Need running advice!
Hi all you runners out there! I'm looking for some evaluation of just where I am. I haven't run in over 16 years and I avoided at all costs prior to that. I am now determined to beat it. So I went and was fitted for a new pair of New Balance runners yesterday and RAN at lunch time. I ran continuously for a mile which took…

N-S-V !
This is a picture of my Chest of Drawers; more accurately, this is a picture of the clothes that are on top of my Chest of Drawers. It isn't unusual that there is a pile of clothes on top. They usually collect there when I can no longer squeeze into them until enough of them settle there to make it worth the effort to box…

NSV - Airline Seatbelts
I am a frequent flyer for business. I long ago "borrowed" an airline seatbelt extension on a flight and have carried it with me in my carry on bag ever since. I did not want to go through the continous embarassment of requesting one for nearly every flight I take. I took the belt when I had a flight attendant tell me (loud…

How many different sizes of clothes do you own?
In the last 15 years, I have accumulated a significant amount of clothing. As my waistline grew, i've been forced to buy larger and larger clothes. I own sizes that span from 52" waist (my largest) down to at least a 36 waist. That is 9 different pants sizes! I have been looking forward to fitting into some of those…
