Back in the saddle again

I know the value of MFP. It is a tool that has helped me lose tremendous amounts weight before. I am ashamed to even tell you about the silly reason that started my derailment. In the end, I really became quite arrogant that I had it all under control. Over confident, I lost focus, began justifying a pound here, a pound there. I suffered a stress fracture in my foot from running, and that killed my cardio routine for months and I never returned to the diligent regiment I had used to be focused. I made excuses. I fell right back into the behaviors that brought back all the weight. You know the behaviors I’m talking about. Lying to yourself and trying to believe it. Feelings of shame, feelings of defeat. So here I am, 3 months back. I know MFP is helpful to me in being accountable to myself, especially about portion sizes. I also know MFP alone won’t get me to my goal weight. I need to exercise. I got back in the saddle of my stationary bike 3 months ago. When I lost so much weight last time, I used the bike until my weight was low enough to begin running. In fact, I would challenge myself to do more and more miles each month. At the height I rode more than 1200 miles in 30 days. I’m no where near the fitness level to do that now, but who knows in 6 months? Right now, I try to bike at least 10 miles a day, but if I have time, I’ll get in 20. (I ride at a slow pace but highest resistance level). I forgot...yes I actually forgot...that a good workout not only helps with weight loss, but helps reduce the huge amount of stress in my life, and it actually makes me feel better. Oh, you are probably wondering; I lost more than 100 pounds almost 8 years ago. I’d be happy with that statement if it didn’t have a follow up of “But....”. The good news? The only thing preventing me from doing it again and beyond is, well...me. So here I am, swallowing my pride, fessing up to my short comings and finding it nice to be back in the saddle again. Thanks for listening. I hope you can find the focus you need to teach your goals.
