Exercise & breathing
Beyond frustrated here - during the summer and fall months I was running 5Ks, with an occasional 5 miler thrown in there, but the dry climate in Nevada combined with the winter has me feeling defeated; recently it's been a half mile to a mile and I am fully out of breath, to the point where I have to stop. Depending on how…

Any Crossfit guys/gals?
So, I'm looking to change up my routine. Currently I'm doing 4X Strength Training and 2X Cardio a week. Typically I lift for 45 minutes-1 hour, and Cardio is a half hour run or so. My gym has a great looking Crossfit area, which I use for some of my strength stuff. I'm thinking about throwing some more effort into the…

New Year's Resolutions
OK! I know we're still a few weeks off, but I want to see them, and have you guys hold myself accountable. It can be anything (fitness, education, social, etc) but get your goals out there and get to working on them. You don't have to wait until January 1st to start your work on them! 1. Run my first marathon 2. Obtain…

you can do better
My sisters and I just finished a month of FB status updates of memories of my dad for his birthday. My last memory was of us at a baseball game, about a week before I left for basic training. In between a beer or two, we started to talk about my future and what have you. We got on the subject of the girl I was dating at…

50 pounds lost progress pics
I have reached my goal weight of 170! Now comes the hard part; maintaining weight while building muscle. I focused mainly on cardio, but now I will add more strength training to my regiment. I plan on still using MFP to log calories, track workouts, and goof off with my friends in the forums (with the occassional…

PCSing to Vegas
Anyone stationed out there now? Or been out way? I leave Osan in a little over two weeks and I am getting exciting, but am looking for tips other than 'Getting Drunk on the Strip' or 'Dude, go out to the bunny ranch!'

Just bought my first pair of 'barefoot' shoes
Any tips for a new barefoot runner out there? I just bought Merrell's road glove after hearing great things from friends/online reviews, and I am taking them out for a test run here soon. Anything on what to expect, or just what you experienced when you made the switch would be most beneficial. Thanks!

Moving to Vegas =)
The time has come! I am moving to vegas next month for work, I have been 4 or 5 times before to visit, but we didn't make it much farther than the strip. Anyone live there now want to chime in on things to do? Hidden Gems? I've done a little bit of research on it and I am getting excited!

It's International Book Week!!!
It's international book week. The rules: grab the closest book to you, turn to page 52, post the 5th sentence as your status. Don't mention the title. Copy the rules as part of your status. "The truth was, neither the Central Intelligence Agency nor any of the other official and unoffical U.S. intelligence organizations…

Thank you everyone, editing because I've decided everyone's got their opinion on this and it's not going to get me anywhere, just need to think about it myself.

Fitness Test Question
So, I'm taking my PT test on thursday (1 min pushups, 1 min sit-ups, 1.5 mile run). Just curious if I should work out tonight or take two days of rest and not go to the gym tonight. I have no issues passing it, but am trying to score a 90 or higher this time around (Got an 89 last time). Thanks in advance!

Fresh & Easy
As a single young guy, cooking for just myself is a bit of a challenge. Part of what got me into the 'scare zone' was eating out almost every single day, and going to the bars. After I accepted the fact that my metabolism clearly isn't what it used to be in high school, I slowed down the drinking (I'm a lot happier now…

Best Vacation Ever!
I just got back from Vegas, holy crap was that an awesome trip! So many memories, but now I'm back to working out and counting the calories down to my final weight goal! So, let me ask you all, what is the best vacation you have been on and what made it so great? Can't wait to hear some of your stories! Cheers, Jared

NSV
So STOKED! Spent about $250 last night at the mall (which for me, is A LOT) on some smaller clothes because my old ones made me look thugalicious (they were too big!). Needless to say, I'm loving my life right now and I'm so much happier and alive then I was 9 months ago... Cheers, Jared

Living my life and I don't care!
So, this weekend my friends and I will be hitting up Las Vegas! I'm seven pounds away from my goal, and I don't consider the fact that I'm going to enjoy myself (read: alcohol) as a bad thing. I have dropped almost 40 pounds in the last 10 months and one weekend isn't going to reverse that. So this week I'm getting in good…

Running & Lifting
I need advice. I've lost about 25 pounds already but I still want to slim down to about 170 (20 more lbs) to go. I've been running and lifting (a little bit) but want to know when would be a good time to incorporate more lifting into my workout. I am 5'10'' and want to be solid, not a skinny boy but not a dough boy either.…
