What you can do for knee pain?
My knee's started getting bad when I gained all the weight, but not so bad I couldn't function. I don't know if its because of the extra time working out, but this last 2 weeks or so they have been a real pain...literally. They don't hurt when I do normal activity like walking etc. But anything where I bend down a lot…

Heart Rate percentage? How high is to high?
I've heard that being above 85% is where you burn the most calories....but is it bad to be in the 90s? When doing the 30 day shred, my heart rate gets up and stays up...and I'm around 85%-95% for most of it. It doesn't get this high during Zumba :( So just curious how high should you let your heart rate get before you take…

Do Insomniacs burn more calories?
I'm just curious if someone who wasn't sleeping, but was still being active (work, grocery shopping, exercise etc) would burn more calories? The body has to be pushing pretty hard to keep someone awake for 48 hours or even longer AND still be functional and active. So I was just curious if anyone knows? I'm in no way…

Gastric Bypass & the band etc.
I just finished a little article in All You about Gastric Bypass and Gastric Banding. It says"if you follow your doctors diet and exercise advice to the letter, you can expect to shed roughly 40% of your extra weight over three years" If you followed any diet and exercise plan to the letter, then wouldn't you probably lose…

Where should I put my calories?
I have my food diary set up by times 12am-4am, 4am-8am, 8am-noon, noon-4pm, 4pm-8pm, 8pm-12am. Well, I had a not so food great day yesterday, and ended up eating at like 1am, went to bed around 3am, woke up around 11am. If I post it where it should go (on today's), that only leaves me 400 calories for the rest of my day.…

This is really sad to admit, but I can't do ONE "real" push up...and I top out at about 3 modified push ups. Drinking 1 liter of water before morning coffee
I saw this on that movie "food matters". Saying to drink 1 liter (4 cups) of water first thing in the morning, before your coffee, before your tea, before your breakfast..... kind of like a way to detox the body (or at least that's what I got from it) Has anyone tried it?

Energy boostering food/drinks etc?
Any tips on foods or drinks to go to when your really dragging, tired, and stressed out? I know there's got to be good foods out there that won't blow calories, but will keep you going ... even if you've only gotten 3 hours of sleep! I always feel like I "need" caffeine (as in gallons of soda or super sugary coffee)…

Raw vs cooked food and weight?
So I just got a food scale, and was playing with it this morning. My potatoes weighed 15 oz raw, but only 6 oz after they were cooked (I baked fries). Thats a huge difference.... So the question is, do I count the 15oz or the 6 oz? I'd assume the 15oz, but I was just curious about this, I never realized how much food…

Sweet potatoes vs regular potatoes
So...I noticed a lot of people switching to sweet potatoes instead of regular russet potato. But when I looked at the nutritional facts in the store, they seem to be around the same calories. Is there a reason to stay away from a regular white potato that I'm missing?

HRM calories burned question
So, I just got my heart rate monitor, and tried it out at Zumba. I stopped it to get my calories burned after the class, but my heart rate was still like 160...I think it was just instinctive....Class over...press stop, even if I was still panting haha.
